Agger's first game for us when you really can complain about his defending.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Don't read too much into tonight's game. Nothing was there to fight for. The players knew that. By gawd did that come through. Pennant and Bellamy tried more than most. Not surprising though as they had much more to prove.

The lad has bags of quality and has impressed me a hell of alot since he's been here. I think the main difference tonight was the fact that he never had Carra or Sami in the middle with him.

Let's just leave it at, i'm right, you're wrong!

He is the best left back we got, but still a very average defender.

            Night night.

I think he is too casual at times to be honest. If he could copy Carra's intensity then he really will be a great defender.

We need a new left back who actually is a defender.

Riise just looked tired to me.

I would call that calm rather than casual.

Yeah but it was an unfamilar partnership at the back with a combined age of 40, Riise was the only regular along the back 4 remember and he didn't have his best game. It did the important thing of giving some of the younger players much needed experience of a first team game and playing against a better level of players than they play against in the reserves (like Sabri who looks a very good player). Pennant to his starting oppertunity well tonight and had a good game and looked a threat and his run for Fowlers second goal was excellent. I feel all in all it will be a good learning experience for our younger players and they get home and wonder how someone just doesn't prevent ****V from ever showing football again because they are pathetic. Just on another note (obviously avoided by ****V) Man U a couple of seasons ago let in 6 away to Fenerbache with usinf some of their reserves.

He is still learning the English game but I agree with you.

Agger, Richards and Ramos are the three best young defenders IMO. I wouldn't change Agger against any other defender in the World.

Would love to have seen Anderson but the game can only have done Pennant good.

I think that is why he wasn't brought on tonight, because Pennant was playing well.

Scary when you consider how young they are.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
