I don't see how it makes any sense to sell a guy that was first pick in that game where we only had Henderson injured. Lucas was great tonight, broke the play up, set us on a fair few attacks, and anchored the midfield. He'll be vital in Europe as well.

I said to my son when he went off that was a long goodbye when he went off. Lingered and waving at the supporters so I figured he was going.

Showed exactly why he should not be sold

He was ****ed when he came off. Put a great shift in but had starting missing tackles and was lucky not to give away a dangerous free kick.

He will be off, waving to the fans goodbye when he was subbed.

Not ideal bringing a kid in but he was struggling, they were just playing around him and he couldn't cope. Can too suffered as the game wore on. Need to build those minutes and fitness.

Was a bit surprised to hear Rodgers say Lucas is our best defensive midfielder. Why would you not play him more then.

Can was shattered too in the last 10 mins. The CM were pressing so much in the first half and I think it was too early in the season fitness wise for them to keep the same intensity for the 90 mins.

The workrate from our midfield was immense and understandably they tired late in the second half
