    LUCAS SET FOR REDS EXIT?

It looks like Lucas Leiva’s nine-year spell at Liverpool could be coming to an end.

Sky sources understand Liverpool are aware of interest from Galatasaray and he’s been strongly linked with a move to the Turkish club for a fee of around £2.3m.

The 29-year-old has 12 months left on his current contract at Anfield.

Seems like a pittance for him in all honesty but I don't think he'll get much game time this coming season

He really should stay. We might not have a load of games but we still need a good squad and reliable players to come in.

Also, I know there's not much loyalty in today's game, but one more year and he gets a testimonial.

Brannagan can fill in for him so we're fine.
          Are we winning?

                  Maybe Kevin Stewart?

I'd be sad to see him go, but he isn't getting games this year, and he's still got a few years left in him somewhere.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No he can't, so we would not be fine.

Stewart would be more a like for like replacement for Lucas than Brannagan from the limited scouting that I've done on them both with us. Would that be right DP?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Jurgen Klopp has blocked Galatasaray's bid to sign Lucas from Liverpool.

Gala felt they had a deal in place to sign Lucas, who is Liverpool's longest-serving player, and were waiting for him to give them his decision.

But Klopp has vetoed the Brazilian midfielder's departure because he is worried it would have left him short because of his various injury concerns.

Gala's sporting director Levent Nazifoglu said: "We are no longer pursuing Lucas Leiva.

"We will continue efforts to sign alternative names instead."

Marko Grujic has been brought in and plays a similar position to Lucas, while the German also has Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and James Milner at his disposal.

But with Milner and Grujic doubtful for the opener with Arsenal, Klopp has pulled the plug on the deal.

The Brazilian midfielder almost moved to Turkey a year ago and was set to join Besiktas on loan before former boss Brendan Rodgers pulled the plug on the deal because of an injury crisis.
