It's not important but I don't get that pic. Bit overtly sentimental in an American cheesy way. You could pick any number of pics of Carra's epic tackles that speaks more of his love for the club.
I agree. Thought the picture was a bit stupid, not really in keeping with the man.

Carra leaving is dawning on me now. A generation has passed by and it's the closing of a chapter. A part of me is going with him.

        Pull yourself together.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It's true though. It's a narcissistic way to look at Carragher's retirement.

              Narcissistic?

Absolutely not. All the best years of watching Liverpool (bar the early years of Barnes & Co when I was very young) were with Carra in the team. It'll be the same if not harder when Gerrard retires.

Carragher is retiring and a part of you is going with him? Of course it's narcissistic.

He's been a great servant, so important over so many years. It's just a pity for us that only a part of you is going with him.

FFS what a load of pedantic claptrap.

It was just a way of saying how I felt and there was nothing narcissistic about it.

Looks that way. Times are saying Stevie's out for the remainder with shoulder surgery. So that complete ****e we watched yesterday looks to be the last competitive game Stevie and Carra ever played together.

And you totally missed the point of that quote btw.
                          @ "Booty"

How did I miss the point of the quote? The funny thing is, in the derby it was Skrtel that played the role of the cavalry, having to come on the shore up the defence against the Bitters' 'mighty attack'. It was most confusing!

Champagne on ice ready for the big day?

And next season who will your anger be directed at?
