I remember reading somewhere - can't remember where though - that Meireles had been identified by Macia some time ago and was a target of the club, as it were. Raul said Hodgson worked hard to bring him here so he obviously played some part although I think we were buying him anyway. The fact Hodgson admitted he had no idea where his best position is spoke volumes.

Don't you think Cole has had enough chances at the top level to state that he will never be good enough?

The thing with me and my attitude with Cole is well known on here, but i'm not stupid enough to say he should be in the side when he is out of form, not match sharp, and when others in the team are justifying their place. At the moment, of course Cole shouldnt be in the side.

But....he hasnt had a proper chance at Liverpool yet, and i am not going to write him off before he has had a genuine opportunity to make a go of things at LFC.

Ngog, Maxi & Aurellio are the first three that pops to mind.

Add Joe Cole as well. Raul is no softer then Lucas either.

Maxi and Aurelio get stuck into tackles no problems. Maxi can whine a bit after getting ****ted though.

Ngog is soft all round IMO. Needs to be more lethal in front of goal, but having said that he has improved a lot and stands his ground when getting hit this season a bit more. Someone asked if he's finished under Kenny. I don't think so. He was obviously a bit out of his depth being in the first team of Liverpool FC, but he is still a young lad and has time on his side. His only problem was bing chucked in at the deep end much too soon.

He's playing as a second striker, not something anyone initially envisioned him to be, but he's certainly delivering.

Surprisingly good finishing ability.

I never thought he had the tools to play such an advanced role. To me he is a classic, orthodox CM, box-to-box. But he's proving me wrong. Big player for us now.

Did he not play as the most advanced in a 3 at Porto? Same with Portugal? Basically what he's doing at the moment really
