I remember this time last year when Torres played for LFC against Wolves. The proper start of the Kenny Era, great fluid football. Where we nearly scored one of the greatest goals in the Premiership. 20 odd passes before a slight deflection and a Torres goal.

...and when he tore out of the blocks against Blackpool. I know we lost, but ****ing hell he looked like he was back to his best with that goal.

Yep, he was very good for the Games he played under Kenny, he had the hunger & desire. I'd say close to back to where he belonged, right at the top of his game. I guess now I would say Torres was just a 'wand' and Kenny & Rafa have the 'Magic'

Is Gerrard, after his contribution the other night, now an irrefutable reason for the demise of Torres? Was Ste a major reason FT produced the stunning form he did for LFC?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Yes I think so Stevie G is one of the reasons . Gerrard's impact on Owen & Torres cannot be overshadowed. I did say when Torres moved to Chelsea he would not find the same types of balls played into him like Xabi and Gerrard did.

Also Rafa's influence. IIRC (stated in interviews) Torres was Told by Rafa where to run, what positions to hold etc ( Just Like Rafa Said the same thing about Gerrard, its not how much you run, its where your run). Rafa was a master planner in Football. I doubt Torres gets any where close to that advice now.

There was a great point on the latest Anfield Wrap podcast.

Look at every striker he's played with, regularly. He "strikes up a bond" with every one of them!

              Owen
              Rooney
              Torres

In 30 minutes the other night he immediately got something going with Carroll.

              He's amazing.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Just saw the Wolves equaliser v Chelsea the other day, Torres just ran away from midfielder just before the ball was played in. Never even bothered to pressure him. Looked, then ran away!

Agreed, & to do it with Carroll shows just how good Gerrard really is!

                    Terrible..

See it again at 1:14 minutes. Video also shows the entire embarrasing celebration after the Chavs first goal.

If it was rehearsed, why would Luiz have to keep encouraging everyone to join in? Looked stupifyingly spontanous to me.
                      Oh I don't know.

I think even though he is highly rated as is he is still massively underrated. If he had moved to Madrid/Barca and instead of being surrounded by donkeys year after year, he would have been one of the greats.

If he retires without a league medal it will be so massively wrong. I have never seen a more complete, effective and dangerous player ever.

I think I'm going to cry when he is gone as without a doubt he has given me the greatest moments when watching football. I almost killed myself leaping around like a maniac for the Olympiacos goal and he was doing that sort of thing on a weekly basis

I posted it yesterday in a different thread

That is truly embarrassing for all involved.

I bet even their plastic ******s of fans find that even just a bit horrific

I doubt it was rehearsed but it was premeditated - there was something in the papers about this a few weeks ago wasn't there? Then a swift 'correction' about the story from Chelsea.

Looks like the story was right anyway, it's just some of the players were too embarrassed to actually turn up, others had to be coaxed into it, one cunt in particular had to be dragged by the neck.

It was obviously decided before hand but rehearsed is the wrong word to use

LiabilityLuiz was the only one who remembered the script when fatfrank scored.

The reports that fatfrank was blanked after the game by AVB shows they are under orders to inlude him and the bench in celebrations
