To be fair to him he looks right at home in the games v Steaua, Rubin, Leeds, Brentford, Wolves reserves, Nordsjaelland, Monterrey and Aston Villa.

Is his conversion rate poor then?

      I mean Torres of course.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I would have thought there is a very high chance of that Neil. TBF he does screw alot of moves up before they technically become chances.

Yep, I had the same thought.

I wonder if it's really true though. Obviously he's not been playing particularly well for a long time but it's easy to be misled by our own observations, as our collective amazed reaction to his goalscoring stats suggests.

It would not surprise me if his conversion rate was decent enough, but overall I think it is fair to say he has been poor - to the point the Chelsea fans actually cheered in one match not too long ago when he was being subbed!

No matter what he does now it is clear for everyone to see he is not the Torres we enjoyed. £50m kerching!!!!!! Andy Carroll... FFS.

yeah he's not the same player - but....... - if we kept our main players this summer (suarez, agger, reina) added a couple good defenders and a boss centre mid - and managed to ship out carroll and the rest and after that could get torres for less than £10m i'd take him as squad player

              starting front three off

              Sturridge-------Suarez-----------coutinho

              with back up of

              Downing---------torres----------sterling

would be pretty nice to have

however i'd be more than happy to welcome any better players in place of torres for £10m
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Amazing really. Scored many of his goals against crap but still
TBF, he did well initially when Rafa took over, before the WCC. His goals dried up after, basically as soon as I put him in my FF team.

Has he really got that many this season?

Crikey. He has still only scored just over 30 goals in 120 games though at the Chavs where as Luis has almost that amount this season alone.

£10m would be okay but he'd probably be after serious wedge in terms of salary.

Torres has scored 19 goals but only 7 have come in the Premiership, and his last Premiership goal was on 23rd December
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wonder if it's impossible for him to regain that form or if it simply hasn't happened yet. Has he lost pace etc. or is it something non-physical, whether technical or psychological?

I get you, you're saying he's due a few more.
