So true, it is funny who we put up with as long as they are wearing the Liverbird.

I've actually been thinking about this subject, and as much as I hate to admit it, part of me is starting to feel a little sorry for Torres. He was one of the best strikers in the world, but bad luck with injuries made it a very short time at the top.

I think a big part of why he looks so disinterested and pissed off is he knows he's lost that initial burst he had, and he knows it wont come back, so he knows his peak is already passed without him winning anything of note (well, he won the world cup, but I mean at a club level).

So everytime he steps out onto the pitch he's just pissed off at the wasted opportunity. Chelsea was a just a last grasp attempt at getting somewhere, but deep down he knew it wouldn't work, he looked far from happy when he left the club.

We saw the best of him, and it was amazing, then we sold him for almost double what he cost when he lost that certain something. We should really be happy. Part of me did want us to cash in on him (but only if it was what he wanted, I still did like the lad even if I didn't like his sulking on the pitch) so not even a major wretch that he left.

But the way he left did leave a very bitter taste so another part of me is gaining immense satisfaction from his fall from grace.

However all in all I think it's time to move on. We've moved passed him, we don't miss him, Suarez is fetching us new excitement so time to forget what is turning out to be a a broken down tragedy of a player.

Although if he scores in the next few games I will immediately delete this post.

He was absolutely awesome for us in that first season and the lack of proper investment in the squad ultimately meant we came to rely on him and SG for most games. Fact is, now he's engineered his move away, I think he realises the damage he's done to both his reputation at LFC and also to his prospects for the future.

Reminds me of a certain Mr Owen who left to "win things" and went from bad to worse every time he moved. He hardly gets a game now and yet could (somehow) still be part of a double winning side without playing any significant role in it at all...

                I hope Torres is watching...

I'd argue that Torres seems and acts like he cares a lot more about his legacy than Owen.

Michael Owen (going by his tweets and general demeanour) doesn't seem to regret anything. He did what he did, he left each club he's been to and each one has been a closed chapter.

If anything, he probably has regrets over Real, but thats only because he was never a first choice there.

Well, he's still very proud of his world cup winners medal, so i expect he'll be as proud to call himself a Premiership Title winner too....both of which he'll have contributed little or nothing to.

                    edit: God i'm sooo bitter..............and i don't care.

I'll be sick to the pit of my stomach when Torres does eventually score.

Since his last goal for Liverpool (including internationals) I think it's nearer 1000 minutes

See the thing is - he got is head messed up and basically sold his soul for a quick shot at personal glory and it's backfired.

it's a tough tough choice to make....but had for example, he stayed at liverpool, and decided **** it....these people love me and i will do everything i can to repay that - and if that means i spend the next 4 years fighting it out every week for 4th place and the odd fa cup or whatever else than so be it - but if i stay and continue to work hard and notch up goals then I may not have a premier league title, but in 10 years time, 20 years, 30 years even - they will still be singing my name and i'd have a bit of a 'legacy' - and who knows a bit of luck and change in fortunes and i might even get the glory with liverpool.........or..........sell my soul, to take a shortcut to try and win in europe/premier league in a team that i have no emotional connections with - it'd be a hollow ****ing victory had he gone on to win it........

Look at Gerrard and Carragher - and i know gerrard was close to taking that short cut to a premier league but in the end he didn't =

Whatever happens between now and the end of their careers - be it glory or relegation - they've become legends - they may not have the premier league medal - but they will have millions of LFC fans behind them for the rest of the lives.............

Torres however - win or lose with chelsea, will just be another footballer who used to play in the premier league
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

And lets be honest it'll happen, people like him don't stay down for long, he'll be playing next season, and the CHavs will inevitably be challenging for the title with him up front.

But, hopefully, we'll be one of their challengers, see how he likes the thought of that!

Torres is not finished, not at all. He is just at the wrong club who do not play to his strengths.

The bumb**** should have seen that he would not fit into this Chelsea team, but being the selfish cunt he is he took that decision. I hope he never ever scores for them and is eventually loaned out to Getafe.
