Absolutely. I think we all agree that he'll never be the Torres of old, but he'll be good for 15-18 goals next season in the League I would think. And I'll be sick as a ****ing dog.

He can score 40 for all I care so long as we finish above that bunch of cunts.

The bumb**** should have seen that he would not fit into this Chelsea team, but being the selfish cunt he is he took that decision. I hope he never ever scores for them and is eventually loaned out to Getafe.

    Loaned out to Getafe.

it seems almost certain that one of Drogba or Torres will leave in the summer and the way Drogba is playing again its certainly going to piss a lot of chelsea fans off when its Drogba that is shown the door.

Although I could see Drogba and Anelka going and them bringing in an Aguero/Kaka etc to appease the fans.

He is going to be shocked isn't he next season (if he is still with the Chavs) that we are challenging to win the PL. Because we will be. Of that I am so confident.

thing is though - thats what's pissed off so many chelsea fans.......

They paid £50m quid for him!!! for that amount of cash you should be buying someone that is perfect for their side - they shouldn't have to spend £50m on a striker......and then go and spend another £150m to change their side round to accomodate him

Weren't there rumours that Drogba wants to move back to France to finish his career?

Torres could well have been brought in to sweeten the parting of the ways and it backfired big time.

Bit different but, they're local lads. Could have expected him to not leave in a cuntish way to a rival, but couldn't have expected him to stay when he couldn't see a future.

And as I say, we got the better deal anyways, by a mile. 50m for that? Lol.

it's just mental though isn't it - you don't spend £50m on a player that doesn't suit u - you spend that type of cash on the mixing piece of the jigsaw -

for example, when he had what looked a fantastic squad with arbeloa, alonso, mascher and torres etc we were desperate for a wide left mid - thats when you say right....we need a player for that position and we know exactly who we want...and if it costs £50m then so be it....

torres though - just a stupid signing isn't it - it's just roman playing champ manager for real - i'm glad it's ****ed up because abramovich clearly doesn't have a clue about football and he must be sitting there thinking ****.....how do a re-load the game and cancel the transfer

£50m and he hasn't scored a goal, for 3 ****ing months. Used sparingly as a sub, when the team is coasting along and he still cannot score. I can honestly say, hand on my heart, I take immense satisfaction from his current demise.

It sort of would make sense though If Drogba is definiteyl going and Anelka is not getting any younger either.......After all spending 50m on the premierships best striker guarantees you goals........oh

Ok then - Dirk Kuyt - not the most fashionable.....but will be loved and remembered for years...

reina is in a similar situation....if he stays and gives us the best years of his career....then win or lose the premier league - he'll go done in history as Liverpool great and be remembered as one of our best keepers for 40 years etc etc.

**** a little edit - when i say Liverpool legends, how can i explain this, i am not trying to say that being a liverpool legened is the pinnacle of a career - but there are only a handful of what you would class as 'great' football clubs.....that around the world, for the last 100 years and the next 100 years, will still be ****ing great clubs - the likes of

                          Us
Mancs (hate to say it but it's true)
                          Ac Milan
                          Real Madrid
                          Barca
                          Bayern

Maybe a few others like Inter, Juve, even for this arguements Celtic and Rangers.....

Becoming a legend at a 'great' club ensures that regardless of you may or may not have won.....you will be remembered and loved at that club for the rest of your life.

What it comes down to is - do you want to be someone that played a few years here, a few years there, won some things or do you want to be a legend.

Actually PTP interesting debate and I would actually open it up to any club, not just the great ones. Look at someone Like Le Tissier and Shearer may not have the medals that there career deserved but they will be 'legends' in there respective cities

exactly - it does open up to smaller clubs and lesser players too -

It depends on the indvidual - what do you want as your legacy as a player.....

Unfortunatley not every player gets what they want.....There are better players than fernando torres that have won **** all, and worse players than fernando torres who have won everything.....it's a ****ter but you have to get what you can out of your career......

And there is no shame in deciding what you want thats best for you some footballers will think

I'm quite happy earning a decent wage, and playing for whoever will pay me the most and i don't care if i win anything but i'll be able to retire happy and live a nice life with my family

some footballers want more...they want to play at the highest level possible, they want to win trophies, so they look back in 20 years to come and think - ooh there is premier league trophy from arsenal, and my champions league at inter, and my copa del rey at valencia etc etc and they'd be content....

and then you get footballers who get emotionally attached too clubs...and these footballers don't have to be local......but they love that club and the club loves them back and they become immortal - and it doesn't matter if they win trophies with the club or not......for the rest of their lives they will be happy knowing that they've left their mark with that club.

I 'don't' blame torres for whats he's done....i just think he got his ideals mixed up, bottled it, got badly advised, and ****ed up
