Awesome video, reminds me of what a player we had. Between 2007 - 2009 he was the worlds best striker. Rafa never got any credit for his signing either from the media, its was always 'everyone knew he would be that good'.Originally posted by Mostar View PostThe best I have seen (too young for Dalglish etc) and I still miss the ****er.
Pure class while he was with us.
See this compilation
He'll never be that type of a player for Chavs. Never..

But moving on 2 years is a very long time in football. The Torres of 2011 is a pale shadow of his former self. Chelsea gambled £50m on him returning to his former gloreis - i cant see it happening though. That club and fans wont give him the same kind of loyal patience we kept with him when he was average at best for his last 18 months here.
I know a lot of our fans are upset with him but they need to get over it. In the end he just got frustrated (like a lot of us) with the poor running of our football club and all of the false promises. Seeing our better players sold and replaced with average players. Surely one of the world's top strikers should be competing for league titles? All of his spanish team certainley are.
His sale was best for all parties. He got to play for a better team (they wont be for long though
), and we got £50m for a player who's value was fast depreciating plus two younger hungrier strikers.
I genuinley believe that January will prove to be the turning point in our clubs fortunes.

I agree with most of this however he moved when the owners and Hodgson had gone. Had he have handed his transfer request in at the start of the season when there was a chance of it all going to **** for us (ie there was talk of administration) then most on here would have understood. To hand in his notice just as we were bringing Suarez on board, as well as new owners and the team playing attractive football (I think it was his last goal where it was passed 20 times before he scored) then it left everyone scratching their head. Everything was looking up and he buggered off.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostAwesome video, reminds me of what a player we had. Between 2007 - 2009 he was the worlds best striker. I genuinley believe that January will prove to be the turning point in our clubs fortunes."That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
