Can't believe BBB is claiming Torres wasn't a great finisher. He was absolutely ****ing lethal in his prime. Way better than Owen, although perhaps not quite as good as Fowler. I don't think we'd have won the league swapping Torres for Robbie tho- Torres suited that team better.
Also, didn't Lec post some stats showing Rush to be a better finisher than Fowler?3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Yep, little bit of revisionism going on here. Torres was lethal and he was no doubt the best striker in world football for a 2 year period.
Every time he came back from his injury problems, there was a degeneration - but he was still great, and still scored goals for us.
Chelsea isn't working out. It clearly won't happen for him now. Yep, Malaga, Altleti or even Milan beckon for him now.Comment

I take it you're pretending Ronaldo wasn't a forward too, to claim Torres was better then the greasy one who more or less single handedly won them a league title in 2008-09 is plain wrong.
He was great but nowhere near the true greats of the game, either from today or yesterday. He's only ever looked world class in one system with one player behind him, hasn't reproduced that form in any other side.
Villa's always out-performed him at national level too, even when shunted out wide to accommodate him at times.Comment

Greasy Ronaldo was supported by more & by better players up top sadly. He also too freekicks & a lot if pens.
When Torres was at his best over those 2 years, he was comparable in his impact fir us as Cuntface was for Scum. He also tended to perform in the big matches more.3rd place. Worst champions ever.Comment
