Utter nonsense isn't it? Cannot be ****ed with these half-baked conspiracy theories. It was a transfer, they wanted him, we liked the fee, we ****ed up and bought Carroll who was our worst ever signing.

What bugs me is that he says we don't know the truth, but then fails to tell us what exactly the truth is!Originally posted by clanhuman View PostSo why did Torres say that we don't know the truth? That's what bugs me.
Hate that ****, all these players like Mascher..Torres...Meireles went to clubs in far better positions that we were in, and they all wanted to go to these clubs too. imo.

Probably because they figure out pretty soon that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. So they try to get the fans back on their side afterwards. I think a lot of players tend to realise how good the fans at LFC are when they go to another club. Masch, Torres and Xabi have all commented on it since leaving. They think they are going to a bigger club by having the chance to win more trophies but none with as much soul as our club.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostWhat bugs me is that he says we don't know the truth, but then fails to tell us what exactly the truth is!

I imagine Masch, Alonso and Arbeloa are ruing every day leaving here, especially after winning La Liga, Champs League etc for the current best clubs in the world...
Meireles not so much, he was offloaded to make way for Kenny's super midfield signings. Great decision.
Torres got everything he wanted - ECL, League, Euros - but he looks sad, dejected and broken. I noticed him glancing at the Liverpool fans when he was brought off in the 1-1, it still hurts him, you can see. I don't think its an Owen situation with him. Owen was a hard faced careerist, Torres I think, would like to have won with us. Like Gerrard.

Not gonna lie, every once in awhile I do miss the golden days of Fernando Torres at the front of our attack

He is so hard to let go whilst he is still in the PL. It would have been so much easier if he had just left to go back to Spain. Chelsea still does not look right for him, or Rafa.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
