Generational wealth that though. 3 years at £36m per year?
I wouldn't begrudge him that for a split second
Perfect servant for us. If he wants a bumper pay day before hanging up his boots, who can blame him
I'd much rather Fab goes than Henderson thoughI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I think we’re at a stage now where it doesn’t particularly harm us to make wholesale changes. It’s probably preferable to the alternative of persisting with too many players in the squad who are past their prime.

agree with everything here, but especially with what you say about the leadership not being there last season, when we needed it. Easy to be a leader when everything’s going well.
I think I’d have been fine with it, if it was the start of the window, but pre season has started now, it would be good if we had the squad more or less finalized.I don't tip

If he’s that mentally weak, then good riddance. If he’s good enough, he’ll play plenty of games and no one should be above fighting for their place in the team. Tbf though I don’t think this is the case- when he came back ripped, I took it as him pulling his socks up, to get back to his best, and giving it all to make sure he is playing.Originally posted by Scratch View PostIf his playing time this season is going to be limited, then I can see why he'd want to leave
Think it’s just about the money. An offer he couldn’t refuse, and prob one he thinks he prob wont get again.I don't tip

Yeah, i can't believe the amount of posts that said we couldn't lose Milner and Hendo in the same window. Of course we can.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostLast season we had a group that knew each other well and have played many games together, and for the most part they weren’t good enough.

There are at least 3 international captains in the squad and we're not exactly a super young team. They'll be absolutely fine with Milner roaring them on in rondos. I'm all for leadership in the team but we've plenty of experience around.
Its not often you get offers for players on the wane, when you do, you should snap their hands off (i include fabinho in this).

My fear is that it is too much too soon, should have been evolving the squad but midfield in particular over last few years, obviously we didn't but for me I would want to have a Henderson type character around while the new guys are settling in, even if he just plays the 'Milner role' and does most of his work in the dressing room rather than the pitch. For me that is the better scenario, as others has said I would have preferred him to leave in the way Milner did and get the recognition he deserves for what he has done in his time here. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not suggesting that we keep playing a midfield unit that doesn't work, clearly there have been issues with the midfield I have been saying that since Wijnaldum left if not before, Henderson clearly isn't a regular for the long term, but if him and Fabinho were here this season, I could see at least one of the starting in the midfield for at tlleast the first couple of months of the season, I don't think Klopp would want to chuck a new midfield unit in every game because you are more likely to get inconsistency, An experienced head such as Henderson or Milner would level that inconsistency out even if the peak level is lower, and that is typically how the squad evolves.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostLast season we had a group that knew each other well and have played many games together, and for the most part they weren’t good enough.

No matter how good the players we bring in are I would expect an up and down start to the season while the new players settleThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
