Why? Because although it has helped us defensively, we create very little playing it. Teams have worked it out. Long term there is no future for it, let's ditch it now.

Liverpool manager thrilled by form of Liverpool youngster in training

Jordon Ibe is back for Liverpool for Monday night's visit of Newcastle.

And manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that the 19 year old has looked "absolutely sensational in training."

Ibe has been missing for six weeks after limping off in the Europa League tie with Besiktas in Istanbul in February.

His form prior to that, after a shock call up for the Goodison derby match, was exceptional and Rodgers is delighted to have him back.

"He has excellent natural fitness and he has been outstanding on the training ground for the last week," he added.

Ibe's return would give Rodgers the option to restore the three-man central defensive set up he has favoured this season, after switching to a flat back four for Wednesday's FA Cup win at Blackburn.

Adam Lallana, however, is unlikely to recover in time to feature while Rodgers also revealed that Mario Balotelli was still suffering from illness.

I have to say, I already think he's proven to be our most effective player at RWB. And if you also take into account that two of our best players were out of position v United (Sterling) & Arsenal (Hendo), you do have to wonder how different each game could've been.

Yep, as feared Physioroom were just using month end/beginnings as markers for 'no actual return date'. They've now updated this return date to 25th April which must be the next temporary placemarker. He's fecked for the season.
