Easy to say from the comfort of my chair but I wish he'd gone round the keeper when he made that long run on goal.

I'd say Sakho was as big a part of that run as Lucas was.

IMO Lucas was the main reason we had our fantastic run last season. Brought balance to the side.

Ibe looks a talent but has a long way to go.

    Haha, don't be ridiculous Chief.

Our good results started with the win at Burnley on Boxing Day. Ibe didn't play until Everton in February when we dropped 2 points at home. He played 2 more games and got injured. How on earth was he a major reason we went on a fantastic run?

Moving Sterling up top with Coutinho and Lallana behind him was the catalyst and that's when we played our best football until Lallana got injured. We still picked up points after that, but we never looked as fluid going forward IMO.

I would hope that by the end of the season at least one of them will have demonstrated that they are in contention for a first team spot.

I don't think there will (bar from Big Chief ). Firminho was bought to replace Sterling, so you would expect him to start, then we have Coutinho and Lallana who will be ahead of him in the starting 11, leaving him to compete with Markovic and possibly Origi.

There will be less pressure than last year IMO when everyone expected so much after the Everton and Spurs games.
