Mostar probably hasn't seen him as much for Derby last season. Sure he had a raw edge but didn't hold on to the ball as much when in proper games. In friendlies he could score two hat tricks and it would still mean **** all.

For Rodgers NOT to start Ibe regularly (or at least getting significant time coming on as a sub) will have me turning against him and want him out by Christmas. And that's me stating that as one of Rodgers' bigger fans on here.

Yeah, they worked well together yesterday I think it was shown pretty early on when they tried to double up on Ibe.

He is a big talent but he lacks tactical awareness and decision making skills and the game intelligence needs to improve a lot.



He has tendencies to hold on the ball too long and tries to dribble too many times when it would be much better to pass and move.



His ball delivery especially from the wide areas also needs to improve a lot.

He more than makes up with those deficiencies with pace, power, control and unpredictability.

The lad is 19 with half a season of games or so under his belt in an underperforming side.

I thought he could have released it earlier on several occasions but I agree that he glides powerfully.

Totally agree. Hoping his decision making improves with age cause he really has potential.

If he had that brain he'd stop running into traffic. Yesterday he seemed hell bent on taking on every last opposition defender regardless of his chances. Do that in the Prem and turnover will immediately put Liverpool under pressure.

That will come in time with games. Sterling did it a fair bit when breaking through and in time did it less and less.

When/if Ibe gets a steady run of starts consistently he'll have no choice but to add some variation to his game or he'll be found out very quickly. Could either be the next John Barnes, or the next Aaron Lennon.

Seems to have his head screwed on and the right mentality and team around him though, so I fully expect him to kick on and become an important player for us.

The kid is fantastic. So much more composed than sterling and a better football brain amongst a lot of other things. Let's just hope we dont have to sell him in 2 years time for £50m...
