Thanjk you.

Sorry. But Sakho...one for the future, signed to develop? Firstly, we dont develop anyone. Secondly the guy is a first team player (not playing when we signed him but that is PSG and money) and was the Captain of PSG.
Also, if he thinks Agger and Skrtel are now the solution...why? He tried that partnership for half a season and the result was he brought a 36 year old back into the team. He has lost any idea when it comes to the defence imo and I hate saying that

We are only three points better off using comparative games from last season. I think this highlights our easy start and papers over the huge cracks in our team. I think you'd have be wearing your rosetinted glasses not to see this.
We had an easy start, we are yet to play Tottenham, City and Chelsea so beofore the season reaches halfway we could well and truly be out of the running for the top six, and probably will. Our signings are being showed up and our manager is trying too hard to be a tactical genius. I'm not optimistic but I'll be the first one too smack myself silly if I'm not right.

Which is of course complete bull**** with all due respect. We've had 3 of the top 6 away from home. And 2 of the top 8 at home. Yeah we havent played Chelsea and a few others but then we havent played Cardiff, Norwich and other **** either yet.
And what is "easy" anyway? A trip to Hull? A trip for Man City to Cardiff? A home game for Man Utd v West Brom? etc.

If you consider that our points total is only three points better than comparative fixtures from last season, but eight points better than at the same point during last season, I think it would be foolish to dismiss the possibility of an easy start. I'm not stating this as fact, just raising the possibility.
Yes, we played three of the current top six. But Arsenal are also not that much better off using comparative fixtures IIRC. Everton might drop down and Southampton as well.
City and United have their problems, but they have a new manager and are more likely to find better form as the season wears on, whereas there is nothing to suggest our form will improve, infact quite the opposite. There are six games to the halfway point and of those six games are Tottenham, Chelsea and City so I'm not too optimistic about our chances of staying in the top six.

I'm a big fan of Rodgers but its staggering for him to say he spent £17m on Sakho and he's done "alright" basically implying he isn't good enough yet.
£17m on someone who isn't good enough to come straight into the team? he's having a laugh there.
He's a first choice pick for France but that's ok, keep picking Agger, Skrtel and Lucas (for example) because that's really worked out well for the past 4 seasons.
What's that phrase, if you do what you always did you'll get what you always got.
Well if you continue to pick the same underachieving players all the time we'll get the same underwhelming inconsistent results we've got for the past 4 seasons.
Edit : Out of our 4 centre backs, if you had to choose the one best suited to handling a big, physical striker like Lukaku or Sagbo (sp?) it would be Sakho every single time, surely.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
