Thanjk you.

Klopp going for the German Cup and Benitez going for the Europa League. If they both win those competitions, and our season ends in a whimper, the cries for either manager will be massive.
And only last week it was said that neither were measuring up to the job that Rodgers has done for us this season

How many of our signings last summer were bought as 1st team regulars?
Lovren for sure (who has been much better recently) and Moreno?
Maybe Lallana.
Balo, Lambert, Can, Manquillo, Markovic were all squad players
What we did last summer was strengthen the squad, what we need to do this summer is buy 3 or 4 nailed on 1st team starters.
I just don't trust Rodgers to do that, I'd argue Balo should've been a starter as well though. Lovren is not a good a fit and plays the same position as Sakho, it was plain stupid IMO to waste 20 million on a LCB last summer.
Can, Moreno, Lallana and Markovic still have a good chance of making here but they were not the right players to get in last season.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I see where you are coming from with the signings last year as none of them inspired me , when you compare United nabbing Di Maria , Arsenal Sanchez , Chelsea Costa and Fabregas , only City done the same as us filling the squad ,
Perhaps selling Suarez was the major reason , other players see us sell our best player and that creates a negative image of the club ?
We can change the manager as many times as we want but if we don't buy better players, we're not going to do much better.
We have Coutinho, then about 3-4 decent squaddies, the rest are ****ing ****. I'm surprised we're so high up the table.
The problem is do we blame the manager for bringing in the ****e or do we blame the committee
For me Rodgers has to bear at least some if not most of that blame
It must be difficult working for him / with him in terms of direction. He wants to play a certain way so signs players based on that plan but everytime hes used that plan things have gone to ****
So do we
A) keep buying the players he wants for that plan only for him to change it again when it invariabably goes to ****
B) encourage him to change his methods and change system to something that works (unlikely to happen imo)
C) change the manager and get someone in with a new plan that will execute that plan accordingly

The counter argument to that is. We lost one very important first team player (probably one of the best strikers in the world) and only bought squad players as his replacement
Also whilst I havent a problem with the general principle of buying cover / squad players we bought tons for the same position
We have Coutinho who is best in the hole (so is Sterling most probably) we brought in Lallana again for that role and Markovic who is probably also best in that role
Seems overkill and the flipside to that is that we desperately needed cover in the holding midfield role and never signed anyone
It was a ****ing mess in the summer

To be honest, the only player I would really be bothered about selling is Coutinho, maybe sturridge if his prognosis isn't terminal. That's not to say everyone else is crap, they just all seem replaceable. With Gerrard gone we don't really have any other 'special' players, or players that I have a strong affinity to.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
He lost three key players from last year , Suarez , Sturridge and Gerrard who I don't think has recovered from the Chelsea game mentally , two of them natural leaders on the pitch by performances ,
look at the goals taken out of the team with them three not playing ,
He spent £120 million and never made a contingency plan regarding 1 of these 3 and he knew one of them was definitely going (not available this year... Suarez)
He will probably spend another £120 million on pretty tiki-taka attacking midfielders and not get a striker, a replacement for Gerrard or a holding midfielder

the "we didnt have a proper striker" argument is a bit ****e imo. We signed Lambert. We signed Balotelli. We signed Borini as well. If they are all ****e, then its our manager that rubber stamped all those signings so he needs to take the blame on that. And the confusion over tge committees role is playing right into his lap as well.....for me any manager worth his salt wouldnt put up with players that he didnt want in the squad being signed.
Brendan was happy to take praise when he switched it to a back 3 and shored the defense for a while. He was happy to be portrayed as some sort of technical genius. Well the fact that he couldnt get a song out of any of those players means he should be criticised just as much.
For me though the team just seems to have lost its identity. And that is down to the manager. The chopping and changing positions and the way we play hasnt done anyone any good. All sucessful teams have an identity.......we have an identity crisis.
The questions fsg have to ask of brendan in his end of year appraisal are;
1. Has the young team progressed / developed?
2. Have the signings been integrated well??? Has the £116m been invested wisely?
3. Have the new players improved collectively?
4. Is the potential for improvement still evident?
5. Can Brendan Rodgers be trusted to invest more of LFCs money?
