Sack him. Go all out for Klopp or De Boer.

He's lost the dressing room, and clearly can't motivate the players like last season, which is why they've mostly all gone on holiday. Managers fault, sadly.

Klopp just knocked Bayern out of the German Cup.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Klopp going for the German Cup and Benitez going for the Europa League. If they both win those competitions, and our season ends in a whimper, the cries for either manager will be massive.

I'm not sure what Brendan's objectives were this season, but he's surely failed on every one.

I'd imagine a decent showing in the Champs League.
Cementing our place in the top 4.
Decent domestic cup run, hoping for a trophy.

Absolute minimum for a club of our stature. The problem we have is Man City have come along and in the last 5 years they have taken our place in the pecking order. Arsenal, UTD (after one bad season) and Chelsea remain consistent.

We need to rebuild, but we need the guy doing the rebuilding to have some experience.

Brendan will have learned a lot from managing us and may one day be a top manger. But he's not yet.

Can't argue with any of that really. But we should've known from day one with Rodgers that there'd be ups and downs.

Bad results happen but it's our demeanor and attitude that are most telling. Nobody seems bothered, complete lack of any sort of passion or motivation. That's why i think he may have lost the dressing room & sure if that's the case... only one thing that can and should happen.

Apart from that great run of games, we've been pretty awful this season. The fact that so many others have been shouldn't take away from our performances on the pitch and Rodgers management throughout the season.

I don't think you ever get an inexperienced manager coming in to a top club and succeeding. Pretty much every successful manager in a big league gas cut his managerial teeth by winning the top trophy or managing a big club in another country. Van Gaal pretty much everywhere, Ferguson at Aberdeen (beat Real in the Cup Winners Cup), Jose at Porto, Wenger at Monaco, Pellegrini at Real the list goes on.

I genuinely think Rodgers has talent (he's proved it) but he's 42 and inexperienced, his CV is not one of a top level manager. The irony is that the experiences he has had at Liverpool will no doubt benefit him at another club in the future.

Brendan has done well, but we really needed to finish the season with some spark, we just look utterly mid table. Getting out fought by teams scrapping for survival is inexcusable.

Well no sign from Brendan that he thinks his days are numbered - part of the reaction to tonight's game:

"Tonight, you could see the players were fighting and working, there were a lot of young players still learning the game, but we never really looked like scoring a goal, to be honest."

Earlier in the year, Liverpool had set off on a lengthy unbeaten run in the Barclays Premier League as they attempted to rein in the teams above them in the race for the top four.

Maintaining the intensity and consistency of that period has proven more difficult during the past month, prompting Rodgers to explain why hardening the side's resolve is crucial.

"We were fighting so hard in those games - we won 10 out of 13," he said. "We were playing catch up for a lot of the season and we got ourselves into a great position.

"We lost a couple of big games, which probably dented our confidence a bit. That's the challenge for me for next year, building a team that can get through the rough waters as well.

"That's going to be critical for us. We have got a lot of fantastic players and youthful players but at the times in the season where it is tough, we have to be able to get through that.

"If you're going to make a challenge, like we did last year, at the top end that's what you're going to need.

"That will be the challenge for me between now and the end of pre-season, to rebuild a group and team that can get through not just the smooth but the rough waters."
