Anybody blame the players as well? They're clearly on holiday already.

If FSG do jettison Rodgers, they may put their foot down with the next Manager and stick with their preferred plan of having a DOF. I can't see them letting the Manager have free rein to do what he likes on the transfer front - and that, thankfully IMO, rules out Rafa - no way he'd put up with that arrangement.

And also suits Klopp since thats the only way he's ever known.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostIf FSG do jettison Rodgers, they may put their foot down with the next Manager and stick with their preferred plan of having a DOF. Hes got a sporting director at napoli though. Not sure how their roles are divided there but it would imply he's not against sharing controlOriginally posted by BootRoom View PostIf FSG do jettison Rodgers, they may put their foot down with the next Manager and stick with their preferred plan of having a DOF. Back him or sack him.
None of this crap of giving him a few quid to see how it goes. Never understood that mantra.
If I was chairman, I'd have sacked him by now. As it happens I'm not, so after its all calmed down a bit I can take stock. But he found a winning formula and has now reverted to a losing one. Admittedly we found it tough going with the 3421, but it was foolish to switch it up this late on. Markovic & Ibe combined brilliantly on the right in a 3421 v Spurs, we haven't seen that since. Why not in the last couple of games or so? Sterling up top & we may well have sneaked fourth.
It's so hard to back Rodgers when he is shooting himself in the foot time and again. He was hanging by a thread with the CL exploits and start in the league. The cup runs pulled him back as did the upturn in form. His fabled saying of how we always finish the season strong is looking wafer thin to stupid. In reality we have regressed rapidly.
I'm not sure that the players aren't playing for him. To me I'm still seeing players putting a shift in. But tbh, that's almost worse. They're giving everything and he's getting nothing from them. Excuses are running out.Forwards.......

What are we building towards?
What formation is seen as the default? Each season, we've started with one system, and then changed it because it hasn't worked, or to accommodate players.
How can we expect success from an inexperienced squad with an inexperienced manager?
The whole club needs to evaluate what it's doing. There's no leaders anywhere, no one who inspires confidence.

It's probably a bigger gamble sticking with BR than it is to replace with Klopp, De Boer or Rafa.
Completely how I see it. In recent weeks Ive felt the players have lost belief in him and his methods. I just dont see a plan forming here.
Most games you see the team sheet and you havent got a clue how they're going to line up - judging by the performances nor do the players. It just seems a horrible mess with no guidance or plan with regards to how we play or what we're even working towards.I know I'll often stop and think about them, In My Life, I love you more - 96

No way could we have Rafa as a Dof, as I have heard mentioned elsewhere. That would be a recipe for disaster. The pressure on the then manager from fans and from knowing Rafa would rather have his job would make it far too messy.Last edited by Kenneth; 28-04-15, 10:20 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Yeah, I was thinking about his time with us and the stories that were put about him being thwarted in the transfer market by 'incompetent executives' *cough* Parry *cough*. Ofcourse he had a sporting director at Valencia too, hence the "I asked for a table and he brought me a lampshade" tales of strife an woe.Originally posted by SK View PostHes got a sporting director at napoli though. He could agree to work within any constraints that FSG would impose, but I suppose my main point is that I can't see anything good coming from it with such a control frea.....erm I'm mean strong character involved. Not to mention the tedious football that I think would be served up.
