this was always my worry - we come into december, we could start the new year in 1st, or in 10th

it's vital that the players dig in and get some results this month and keep us in with a shout.

we then really need to strengthen in January.

he (rodgers) seems to do somethings superbly and then other things, well just baffling.

the starting point has to be getting the midfield sorted/right.

Gerrard - he's still a top player, still has plenty to offer - but not in a 3 man midfield.

he needs to 'managed' better for me.....a top top manager would change it

for example - without sturridge, we had no threat going forward other than suarez who on his own when isolated, even as good as he is, will have games where it doesnt work - and on the pitch is gerrard who is one of our better attacking players, who had a wonderful season playing of the front man, in midfield struggling to get a kick.

why not move gerrard into a more attacking role closer to suarez - put the pressure on their defence and push higher.

well the problem is - cause that then leaves our midfield horribly exposed cause we don't have the quality to come in and do a job.

we need to get at least one maybe two top midfielders in - too often, even in games we have won, we have got overrun in midfield.

Gerrard should always be playing in the advanced role of the midfield 3. I find it ****ing weird that he isn't. Defensive midfield needs to be addressed. And Sakho needs to be given the LCB position.

Just comes across as he's being stubborn with the number of signings he just isn't bothering to pick.

I doubt JWH would have any qualms about sacking him if he continues not to use players that have been signed at huge cost and one that Ayre called a 'marquee' signing.

defence has been an issue - i think he's ballsed it up - he wanted or maybe expected to lose sell one of agger or skrtel -

i reckon he was expecting either a bid for one of them or for one of them to put in a transfer request, so he signed sakho and was thinking

then for whatever reason both agger and skrtel stayed - and then there hs been injuries and all four of the centre backs playing well and playing ****

it's just messed it all up.

and they stayed fit, played regularly, and we stuck with them for ten games - then the defence would look a lot more solid

but chopping and changing due to injuries, loss of form and prob some worry that he needs to keep all four centre backs interested has ****ed it up a bit

i agree with this fully. centre midfield is being compromised by gerrard playing there so just shift him further forward and control the midfield. Henderson and lucas are more than capable of competing in there.

allow gerrard to play the 10 in behind suarez - even if he can only manage 60 mins and then bring in coutinho from the left etc...

surely thats more than enough to beat Hull. I mean just how much quality do you need to beat hull - palace beat them last week ffs.

And Coutinho should have started the game then gone off. If he's fit enough for the bench, he's fit enough to start. I think the players were complacent and I think Rodgers was aswell. That kind of performance really is unacceptable, as is his continuing failure to pick some committee signings even though they are better than the ones he is selecting
