Two points:Originally posted by cream View PostWe didn't a good enough squad mate, simple as that.
1) I think we had a good enough squad to be higher than 10th by december. No doubt in my mind. That was on Rodgers.
2) If the squad isn't good enough after three summer windows, that's also on him.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Yep, the Utd that won the league 2 years ago, obviously they had Moyes in the meantime but they weren't **** before.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostSo you expected us to do better than united despite them spending 200m?
I hoped for it, for sure, even thought we probably would, but if you expected it really you've let yourself down.
Added Di Maria, Rojo, Herrera, Falcao, Fellaini, Mata, Blind and Shaw to a PL winning squad.
That's actually mental when you think of it like that. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I think we have a good enough squad until we play the big boys/games , which is when the stars make a difference , unfortunately this season nobody has made the step up ,
My failings always come back to last summer and having no decent striker coming in with pace , the first three months of the season were dreadful to watch with no movement in the attacking area's , we got better when we changed to Sterling as it seemed to catch teams out , but now resorted to playing that way again ,
I guess personnel is the problem area , but whose fault is it , managers or clubs as he can only work with what he has on the training ground ,

This bit has gone under the radar, he has hasn't he, certainly to a degree?Originally posted by SK View Posti expected us to evolve, to be more about the team rather than individual brilliance. I expected rodgers to address defensive issues, which were apparent last year and the year before(and still are). he had a whole year to prepare for suarez leaving. he had a whole lot of cash and champions league football on show. what have we got instead? a mess.
some players will come good, i fully trust marković, moreno and can to develop into great players for the club, but it all just seems so random when it comes to his transfers.
We've conceded 37 goals, 5th best in the league
Hasn't Mingolet got the most clean sheets now as well??The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

We've lacked goals in fact we're about 50 goals down on where we were last season, having that amount of goals go missing from the side is always going to cause issues. Bar Sturridge who needs to prove his ability to stay fit none of the other players we've got to play up top are good enough for us.

I guess I've been sceptical from the start, I really want to like him and for him succeed but I just can't see it happening for him, maybe we took him too soon.Originally posted by RichC View PostI'm not sure but I get the feeling you're not a fan of Rodgers?
I always though that the committee was at fault, but Rodgers has explicitly stated that he has first and last call on transfers, so he should shoulder that responsibility - for good and bad.Originally posted by gratziani View PostI think we have a good enough squad until we play the big boys/games , which is when the stars make a difference , unfortunately this season nobody has made the step up ,

Certainly has, surprising to me at least, considering our poor start this is quite good actually.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostThis bit has gone under the radar, he has hasn't he, certainly to a degree?

I think for Rodgers and for most sides we need a goalscorer someone that's going to get goals consistently for us, if you look at when Rafa was most successful we had probably the hottest striker in Europe for a while in Torres and a player in Gerrard at his best, last season we had Suarez and all he brings coupled with Sturridge and a side in red hot form and confidence.
Take goals away and you struggle simple as that we shouldn't have relied on getting Sanchez in or Sturridge being fit for even most of the season. We failed and quite badly with our recruitment up top last Summer and that needs to be better this coming Summer regardless of who the manager is; if Rodgers is here next season and we bring in a goalscorer that hits the ground running from the get go I think we will be well within a shout of the top 4 again.
Question is does he get the chance and only FSG at this moment really know the answer

I get the feeling about Brendan , and do think he has made mistakes this year in our biggest games this season , champions league at home to Basel , home to united
But when he has had the most important players in the game I.E, matchwinners we were a joy to watch , and this was at a time when I had lost my love of the game , he didn't mind winning games 5-3 ,
Just wish he had a bit more big game management in him and realised some games are must not lose against your rivals. but he has had to learn the hard way ,
