Brendan Rodgers has insisted he is in charge of transfers at Liverpool and has already built up a good relationship with the club's owners.

The Northern Irishman was named as Kenny Dalglish's successor earlier in the summer and is currently preparing for his first season at the Anfield helm.

He is keen to get the team playing in a certain way and says he is under no pressure to sign particular players, as he works closely with managing director Ian Ayre.

"That was one of the key points for me coming in," Rodgers told Sky Sports News.

"I believe in communication, which is very important, so I have a really good working relationship with the managing director Ian Ayre, and he and I speak on a daily basis.

        Relaxed

"They are getting on with doing the work, in terms of looking at the targets that we want to bring in.

"I am quite relaxed in relation to the type of targets I want to bring in."

Rodgers maintains that he also has easy access to the club's American owners and has spoken with them regularly since taking the job.

He explained: "With the owners I have got regular contact, and that was important for me, so there is a clear pathway for me to the owners and I like to communicate with them and it has been great so far."

I read an article saying that Commolli did the numbers and got the best crossers and the best header he could get to score the goals for the team. The team is then set up accordingly but where they did go wrong is that overall, a very small percentage of goals is scored from crosses in general. So it was never going to improve goalscoring really since we focused too much at a bad source of goals.

I wouldn't really despair if we signed no-one this summer, just changed the system, gave the younger players a chance, use this season to run out high end contracts and aim for recruitment next summer. Aquilani, Carra, Cole should be up for renewal so we could cut the wage bill drastically. Rodgers probably needs a season as well to adapt and assess the team.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think a couple of players would do the trick. We need more energy and movement in midfield (Ramirez?) and an extra striker with pace (Demba Ba?)

Brendan Rodgers has an open invitation to give *Spain coach Vicente del Bosque a visit as he bids to get his new Liverpool team playing like European and world champions.

And the Kop boss has made a new move for *Fulham star Clint Dempsey after losing out to Spurs in the battle to sign Gylfi *Sigurdsson.

Del Bosque has secured a personal historic treble of the Champions League, World Cup and European Championship by leading Spain to Euro 2012 glory .

And the former Real *Madrid manager rates Rodgers so highly that he has offered to pass on his knowledge to the 39-year-old Northern Irishman.

Rodgers had been due to visit Spain’s pre Euro 2012 training camp in Austria, but was forced to cancel while he moved from Swansea to Liverpool.

But now the Euros are over, Del Bosque has told Rodgers he can still drop in on a Spanish get-together whenever he wants or visit the 61-year-old personally to discuss their ideas and philosophies.

Showing the way: Vicente del Bosque has already invited Rodgers to a Spain training camp to talk about their ideas
                  Jasper Juinen

The news will delight *Liverpool’s FSG owners, who appointed Rodgers *because they are desperate for the Anfield team to play more entertaining and *progressive football.

A source close to Rodgers said: “It is obviously a *difficult time to find a date at the moment, but Brendan has an open invitation to meet Del Bosque and watch Spain train.

“I’m sure he will take up the offer at some point *because Brendan loves to talk to people about the game, particularly very successful people.”

Rodgers speaks fluent Spanish and first crossed paths with Del Bosque when they were working in youth football, the *Spaniard with Real Madrid and the Liverpool boss with *Reading.

There have been some tweets from Jen Chang and Paul Rodgers on the FOX LFC Documentary and these tweets in particular are interesting.

                    3. New training regime is very different to recent years. All about very quick passing on mini-pitches with goalkeepers fully involved

The first tweet especially is good to hear and probably a shock to the system given how poor we are technically.

It's ashame so many were involved with Euro 2012 as it would be good to have them all getting used to this.

I figure the most important part of Rodgers system will be movement off the ball. To play like Spain at least 2 people must provide an outlet of support for the person on the ball. This in order to create these passing triangles that we have become used to seeing with Spain and Barca. It will be interesting to see which players adapt to this. Hopefully everybody can.
