I'm fully behind this idea and it's another gripe I had with FSG which will hopefully be addressed properly. However, this is something I'm interested in:
This appears to be someone who will ensure the type of players and philosophy is adhered should Rodgers leave. However, Rodgers has the final say. If the committee had agreed on Dempsey, then I'm sure FSG would've sanctioned it.
I do wonder who this 'senior figure' will be. Sounds like a 'non-DOF', you know, a Footballing Director. I would've said Kenny Dalglish was the man for that, but I guess that won't be happening.
Interestingly there will also be a senior figure – likely to be a former player or manager although not one necessarily previously connected with Liverpool – who will act as a figurehead for the type of football Liverpool want to play and the philosophy the club want to follow.
