I don't think that will be the problem sadly, getting the wages sanctioned will be. That being said if there is a chance of getting him back we should certainly be trying

It would make more sense than Sneijder, and they were willing to put a package for him then.Originally posted by Tee View PostNext summer.

Makes too much sense this signing so expect it not to happen.

This type of signing is about more than just numbers IMO. Sometimes you have to be brave and go with your gut feeling and I have a strong gut feeling that if he came back it would be massive catalyst that this young developing team needs. His influence would be nothing but positive, on and off the pitch."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

But would Xabi be a short term solution ? Yes he's 31 but he is still seemingly in his prime, players who rely on pace and reflexes tend to decline around the age of 30, Xabi on the other hand who's game is centred around intelligence and vision could well carry on at a high level for at least another 4/5 years.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostIt does and it doesn't, if it works the huge outlay on a 31 year old would be seen as a master stroke of not it's a massive outlay on a short term solution.
I want him back but the numbers for FSG would need to make sense, not sure they do

It probably would be but you could look at say Erikson as a long term solution for cheaper wages.Originally posted by Tee View PostThis type of signing is about more than just numbers IMO. It all depends on how FSG would view the signing tbh.
