Most sensible comment of they day, so if we need someone to fit that bill, an up and comer who we can mould in the long run and who already has the engine, surely Henderson? Hence money spent elsewhere?

But we need someone who can dictate a game & dominate a midfield.. Henderson is a decent squad player but nowhere near the answer IMO. Need better and no doubts we will sort it on in January or the summer.

Alonso is world class but we need somebody next to him that can run if we stick with the same formation

Rumours that he's agreeing terms at United seem to be gathering pace. Filthy ******* if he goes there

I'd be shocked if he went there I really would.

I can't see him coming back to this country at all I'm sure he's commented previously on the tax over here

Lol, some fans would explode if it turns out to be true.

Although I could see him going to Chelsea; the lure of playing under Mourinho might hold some clout and Abramovich will pay him a small fortune to do it. But I agree, rcasemore - I think he'll stay in Spain or head off to Italy ... most likely Juventus.

Italy would suit and yup Juve would certainly fit the bill or Napoli

Doubt he'd want to play under Rafa again.

At this stage it can only all be a load of bollocks, he can't discuss terms with any club right now. Twitter bull**** would be my guess.

No offence intended, but I think it's naive to think that Xabi (and his agent) aren't on their way to securing their next deal. Regardless of when he can officially start negotiating, there will be a lot of leg work going off in the background. I do agree that it is more than likely to be Twitter bollocks.

There is 100% no chance any deal is underway, if they got found out it would be a disaster, the furthest I suspect they can and would go is his agent putting feelers out to see which clubs would be interested in him.

If I'm not mistaken it said he's in negotiations with United.. That's bull****.
