Gerrard is better in a more advanced role so I'd say yes, Xabi is good defensively too so if Lucas is ever out you could put him and Henderson in front of the back 4 and we'd be fine defensively.
It's unlikely that he'd come here anyway but there's no harm in dreaming

I'm all for getting Alonso in but only if we get someone in who's quick and powerful alongside him. Him & Lucas together? Slowest Midfield ever.
