      No he isn't 6 months or under 6 months I think is the ruling, he can then talk to clubs legally.

          That's what the agents are for, the what if scenarios "if Xabi was available and interested, would you be" etc.... informal chats between the agent and clubs would be going on all the time.

              I said it as soon as Mourinho was linked with Chelsea return that i wouldnt have been surprised to see him take Alonso there...... i would hate it if he ended up there to be honest. To be in the same team (well, squad anyway) as Terry and Lampard would be a kick in the stones.....

              Would love a return to LFC and a 3 man-midfield of Lucas, Gerrard and Alonso would be class but i cant see it happening to be honest.... time will tell....

                    Hes allowed to sign a pre-contract 6 months prior to his contract expiring

                    So I believe he will be allowed to legally speak with clubs now
