      IMO we would have sold Xabi for a lot less than £30m in the 2008 summer transfer window if we would have had a manager that didn't had the guts to fight Gillett and Hicks.

        £18m was the bid that Juve needed to get him or something. They couldn't be arsed going through with the transfer so Alonso stayed and had is best season

          Would take him as part of a Suarez deal and he'd be first name on the team sheet. Would need to be on big wages, but it gives some flexibility in terms of accounting when doing a swap in terms of how much you call it (then write off each year).

          Think Flamini would be a good option too to comete with lucas for that role.

          So we'd have a fairly interchangeable midfield, with quality in depth. And Henderson/suso
