Be realistic, why would Alonso come back?

He seems to have a genuine affiliation for the club but he's currently playing for the Spanish champions who have a decent shot of European glory and since he went back home he became a regular for Spain - that wasn't happening while he was with us.

As much as I love the guy, coming to us would be a backwards step.

Because he has on more than one occasion said he wants to come back, albeit indirectly. The interview he did on the LFC channel, Football Focus etc is your evidence

I think if he wins the champ league with RM this season, he may well come back. I wouldnt put any serious money on it though. Its all conjecture at the moment.
