LFC Legend joined the echelon of greats.

Dalglish , Rush , Barnes , Souness and Gerrard

too tough for one as the best out of them lot.

He'll always be remembered for what he won and some will always say its a shame he didn't get a league medal. But without him I wonder how many trophies we'd have won in that period? How many top players would have came? We were struggling financially for a part and he was our only top class player. He kept this club a float.

The comparisons that have been all over the place today with Lampard are ridiculous, a man who single handedly carried a bellow average side to great things vs a man who had played in a squad built around him for a team that had world class players all over the pitch. Gerrard could do everything, its a shame how he faded, I know personally I used to be frustrated seeing it. Whilst he was still decent.. Decent isn't Gerrard.

His persistent groin injury took so long to be properly diagnosed it basically robbed him of three years - three when he'd have been at his peak I'd argue.

I'm a Gerrard sceptic I have to say - he did well playing with his gut but I prefer thinkers of the game. As for now, I'd prefer he didn't give the media a reason to be camped in the training grounds and the cutting to the sight of SG in the technical area when the opposition scores or Liverpool miss a sitter. You can just imagine.

That sentimental guffing bollocks from suarez, what a pile of ****.

the bitey **** nearly had me blubbing there...
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

You going for a Guinness world record for spouting ****e mate? Perkins will be getting worried. He's not going to be involved in the first team and if he was it would be because the best manager we've had in years wants him there. That's enough for me.

The most complete footballer in the history of the game for me, by some distance as well. Too many wonderful, unbelievable moments and he has left us with many amazing memories....I look forward to the next chapter in his football career and one thing I am sure of, he is a winner who will become a great coach. Thanks for everything so far Stevie G....this story is to be continued....

He's an absolute Legend, and listening to him speak reaffirms what a huge part of the club he is.

I think that interview illustrates he perhaps does have the ability to mange he shows real humility and awareness.

Good luck to him, I'm sure we will see him back at Anfield sooner or later.
Anyone think that when the camera went back to Lineker each time, the person facing him wasn't actually Steven Gerrard? Doesn't look like him.
