Hope he gets to 100 this season. Hard to see it though unless he hits form now.

It's not going to happen. His birthday isn't until after the season is over and anyway he's only 32 now..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

several of those assists have been for the oppositionOriginally posted by saj View PostHaving said that he has 4 goals and 7 assists. Maybe Gerrard has been inconsistent as the team as a whole has?
another good reason to play him further up, more time for the team to recover from a sloppy pass or interception.
he is a definite goal scoring threat, but we need to get a decent CM/AM to replace gerrard. the likes of suso may one day fill his boots [maybe with some insoles] but it may be a year or two away, so we need to add someone who is ready to go, not another 'prospect'removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

By the time his contract is up he'll be 34 years old and if decision is made to offer him 1-year rolling contract common sense would dictate to be on on much reduced wages.Originally posted by dom9 View PostHe's not the player he was so i wonder if a new contract would be on reduced wages? Well his 4 goals & 7 assists in the league alone suggest I am right - in the word of one of our greatest managers "FACTS"!Originally posted by saj View PostNot sure on that but then it is your opinion
BUT a lot of people (even those who are lot LFC supporters) have had Glen Johnson as our player of the season so far. I would say Luis and Glen have been the players who have been the best so far. In third I would have to say Skrtel has been decent again. After that, most the other players have been very inconsistent and you could put any one in 4th place. Gerrard has put in about 4 good performances this season. In fact I don't recall a game where he has been MOTM. Allen was good for a while. Enrique has been immense the past couple of months and has 3 assists that I can think of which is incredible for a full back. I'm not saying Gerrard should be dropped but some of his performances have IMO hindered the team and he has made a several mistakes that have led to goals conceded. Having said that he has 4 goals and 7 assists. Maybe Gerrard has been inconsistent as the team as a whole has? Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

There is more to it than the goals and assists though, it probably suggests he should be playing further up the pitch as he's also been at fault for several goals against this season.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostWell his 4 goals & 7 assists in the league alone suggest I am right - in the word of one of our greatest managers "FACTS"!

Really hope that Gerrard can do what he has done in last 2 games and get into the box, he won't as much time and space as he did against Fulham but he looked fresh. His run last week for the goal was like the old Stevie. Playing him further forward and closer to goal is where we will see the best of him IMO.

that is a headscratcher.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostIf Rodgers is considering handing a contract extension to a fading 32 year-old - a 32 year-old that still has 18 months remaining on his contract - then it's just a further demonstration of how unsuitable he (Rodgers) is for the job.dave of mutilation
