I get why he's gone there in terms of the job, it's a big one but he'll never be able to succeed there regardless of the results he manages to acheive.

He will do well, he will never win the scum fans over, RA will offer him a new contract at the end of the season, he will go to Spain or Italy for 3 year... puff...

Chelsea fans must be the thickest stitwanks in the 14 billion year history of Earth. If Di Matteo had not been a former player they would have been calling for his head much sooner.

They lost more ground on 4th after he was appointed last year after only winning 5 of their last 11 games. Ferga**** thinks Benitez is lucky for winning CL with a team he did not construct. Di Matteo came in in ****ing March. After the group stages and quite frankly got dry bummed in both semi final legs and the final and utterly fluked a win. His FA cup baptism was Birmingham and then Leicester. Well colour my ****ing undercrackers brown with fear.

At least Benitez managed to navigate the Liverpool squad through the entire campaign. Then followed it up the next season winning the FA cup navigating the entire campaign. And a CL final the following year. And a points total that was the highest ever second place haul

But no, lets pine for the pin headed mutant who when given a crack with the squad he constructs fails to get you out the CL groups.

Can't remember who it was, but someone who played under RDM at west brown, and they basically said he was lazy and did sod all. Very little involvement in coaching. Picked a team and let the players get on with it.

Dunno; being Chelsea fans it probably took several hundred of them to string 7 letters together in the right order.

It is going to end in a mess. I can understand why he took the job, but I think he should have swerved that scummy club. Massive risk he has taken.

I'm not sure anyone could have expected the fans reaction to be so extreme.
                  Oh I don't know.

Noooooo - it's no risk whatsoever.

                    a) It can't last long - they never do
                    b) Rafa gets some quids - fair enough
                    c) And this is where it gets surreal - no-one in their right mind would be able to lay much blame for ‘failure’ at Rafa's feet. What is success for the Chief Chav Chimp? No-one knows.

Think thats a bit harsh. The fact is Di Matteo is a club legend and specially after bringing in the one that the russian craves deserved longer. I would say our own club legend should have been really shown the door sooner but you persevere because you have an emotional attachment to them even when all around can see both were pretty poor managers. While i don't rate di Matteo i dont think you lok at last seasons games and take that winning record into account when trying to win a CL.

They can and undoubtably will. Failed short stints at inter then Chelsea woul kill any hope he might have of a permanent top job.

Just seen the reaction of some of the chelsea fans interviewed on ITV after the game. I have never seen anything like this. You'd think Benitez had been at the helm for a while and was struggling the way fans are saying he should leave and get in the next taxi. I'm gobsmacked. Got to be the worse set of fans ever.

Even amongst neutrals who have ambivalent views on Benitez, they're making themselves look like the plastic morons that they are. But they don't have the self awareness to see it.

Never seen anything like this myself. It's bizarre that he's got under their skin so much, or maybe it's that cunt's Mourihno's legacy. I don't know, but they truly are a despicable bunch of supporters.
