2 in 36 I believe now and 11 in 61. A much worse strike rate than Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey had for us. Never a word of stick for the 'future of Man Utd'Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHas Danny Welbeck ever scored a goal?

Ray Wilkins has criticised Rafa Benitez for his recent selection policy – and blamed the Chelsea interim boss for Ashley Cole’s hamstring injury.
Benitez claimed victory over Manchester United in Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final replay justified his decision to field a weakened side against Southampton 48 hours earlier in the Premier League, despite a 2-1 defeat at St Mary’s.
But Wilkins says securing a top four spot should be the number one target for Chelsea, who slipped to fourth following the Saints loss, and has questioned the decision not to play the likes of Cole, Eden Hazard and David Luiz in both games over the Easter period.
Speaking on the Sports Breakfast, the club’s former assistant manager said: “I am sick of the word ‘tired’ in football. We used to play Easter Friday, Saturday and Monday.
“These players are super-fit and I don’t think you can take liberties in the Premier League. Southampton have beaten Manchester City, they have beaten Liverpool, and they took Manchester United the distance.
“I think Rafa Benitez took a little bit of a liberty at the weekend with the side he selected. These guys can play two games in three days, no problem at all. Champions League football for a club like Chelsea is paramount.”
And Wilkins claims Benitez’s decision to rest Cole against Southampton was the reason for the full-back’s early exit from Monday’s game against United.
“He never played on Saturday at Southampton on Saturday, he plays 15 minutes against United and Danny Welbeck takes him on a run and he pulls his hamstring," he added.
“I honestly feel he has to play all the time, Ashley. He is one of these machines. You have to keep it well oiled and it will fly. Had he played on Saturday, he wouldn't have done that yesterday.”

Maybe someone should tell the likes of Wilkins that the reason that a manager can't play players three times a week now the year 2013 is that it is a higher tempo and the players are super fit.
Higher tempo means that the passing game is much much quicker than say 25 years ago.
That means that if a player is tired then he will be found out much easier than decades ago.Stop the cyberhate
