Generally what happens when players dont get game time. Not match fit enough to make an impact when they come on. **** corner but generally playing poor

His general play in the time he was on the pitch was actually ok, he had a few nice one touch interchanges in and around the box and looked very lively.
He's not good enough and will be sold, but still, everyone loves a scapegoat and this is largely a misdirection of everyone's anger and frustration.
**** you Iago, **** you!!!!!

Haha - that's exactly what I thought. 'Excellent, we've got specialist corner taker obviously, I've been wondering when he would play his part'.Originally posted by ronanm View PostPoor *******. I remember thinking "Aspas is taking this? Must be good at taking set pieces" and then he did that. You can't help but laugh
...If ever there was a corner that needed to go right in 'the mixer'...
He must have almost got an assist for the second?Modifying post.

If we are fielding suggestions, then may I propose crucifixion.
Drawn-out, messy, but hugely effective if performed correctly, and gives by far the highest ratio of death/painful torture that will also satiate many Liverpool fans' desire for recompense.
We just missed out on Easter, plus it's a wee bit barbaric, but it'll send out a message to all those average footballers to eke out a living elsewhere."I will make the boys feel your support"

To be fair, that was that arrogant, unfit, waste of space Sturridge.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHaha - that's exactly what I thought. 'Excellent, we've got specialist corner taker obviously, I've been wondering when he would play his part'.

I think the move to bring him on was pure desperation, there was a lot of that in the second half. I don't think he was particularly good or bad. The corner was the main thing that everyone can remember and he's getting a lot of stick for it, most of which IMO is over the top but is was a frustrating situation and people are looking for a scapegoat and he's an easy target.
He's not suited to us or the league and he'll be gone next season. I don't have a problem with him like I have with some players we've had.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He almost had one as his pass to Sterling led to a pretty decent chance.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostI was expecting a Macheda moment, but after that corner, I realised it'd probably be the last time we'd see him playing for us.
That said his corner was beyond terrible.
Have no idea what he saw.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

He has to have been aiming for whoever is about 30 yards out (I can't make it out who it is in the gif posted on the previous page), but the pass is ~12 yards short

I've seen many corners like that, just none on that magnitude and with such meaning.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostHe has to have been aiming for whoever is about 30 yards out (I can't make it out who it is in the gif posted on the previous page), but the pass is ~12 yards short
Everyone's played football and laid a simple pass off to see that the one you were passing too wasn't on the same wave length. In all fairness Iago was probably sat on the bench watching us waste corner after corner, and waste the ball with countless crosses to our not so giant attacking players and though, **** it. We'll go for the simple pass to creat a better angle or shooting chance and see what happens.
Despite all the evidence of that particular option having failed during the match, he should still have put it in the mixer, as you never know. But I just can't comprehend the type of discussions had over it, as though Iagos corner was the main reason we failed to avoid defeat. At least he came on and created one decency opportunity, more than most the rest had managed in 90 minutes they had.Forwards.......
