And apart from Kuyt being able to score as many goals against the best team in the country in one game as Fabio can manage in a full season.

        Ahh ****, why did I
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

No he didn't. Kuyt decided to leave using the clause in his contract before Brendan even arrived. By the time he did, Kuyt's mind was already made up and he chose to go to Fener of his own accord.

So add a load of additional games and reduce the amount of players in our already tiny and quality deprived squad? Seems like a good idea John

Aspas frustrated that Rodger’s doesn’t use subs!

We recently reported that the Liverpool striker had expressed his frustration at his lack of playing time, and would be considering his options this summer. In a recent interview with IB Times UK, the player acknowledged the difficulty in receiving significant minutes on the pitch with the club’s 2 main strikers in such commanding form; however, he is puzzled that the squad players do not get a chance to show their worth even when the team is winning matches comfortably.

He said, “My colleagues are playing great [Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge] but I think the boss could give more minutes to the substitutes, especially when we are winning 3-0.

“We are playing three games a week and sometimes I don’t understand that the strikers play the three games the entire 90 minutes when there are other players. I don’t understand why he (Rodgers) made so few changes.

“For example, when we are winning 5-0 against Tottenham you think ‘make a change’ because he still has the option to make three changes’.

The former Celta Vigo star also complained about often being played out of position when did get the nod to play, which he says affected his ability to influence games. He left La Liga as a prolific striker who enjoyed playing as a traditional number nine – a position he feels he is most effective in.

Despite playing as a striker and being the club’s top scorer in pre-season (in the absence of both Suarez and Sturridge it must be said), in the few games he has started for the team this season, Rodgers has preferred to employ him as a ‘false nine’ in more of a midfield playmaker role which Aspas has found challenging to adapt to.

“I started the preseason very well, playing as a number nine, but during the season I began to play as a playmaker, where I don’t feel comfortable. I think that is what has stopped me showing my potential, he added.

“Where I exploded in the last two, three years at Celta was as a striker. I scored around 45, 50 goals. The Premier League is very physical, I got the ball in the playmaker position and the defenders and midfielders do not stop. It is not if I play as a number nine, where I have space to run.”

Aspas understands the reasons behind struggling to get his game ahead of such prolific players like Suarez and Sturridge, and he said Rodgers has explained to him that his hands are effectively tied when it comes to striker selection.

“He said that he understands my situation but that he cannot do anything when he has two strikers who have scored 50 goals. It hurts, but I also understand that. If I were in their situation [Suarez and Sturridge] it would bother me to be replaced when they deserve to play.”

It seems with only a few crucial games left to play in the title run-in, there isn’t much hope of Aspas featuring again this season, unless the current strikers succumb to an untimely injury. This will in all likelihood see Aspas seek a move elsewhere next year in order to play regular football.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Aye, noticed that myself, although unless he meant the end of March when we played 3 in 8 days.

TBF, there was a few 'quotes' that had me wondering, did he really say that?
