And that is the level of player we would need to be looking at if we wanted to upgrade on Sakho.

Would be stupid to loan Sakho out though. Fully fit he is the best CB we have at the club.

      Something a bit sus here.

He's clearly a top performer for us (or was) but you have to think that the drugs stuff which partially torpedoed the end of last season, along with the rumours of his behaviour at PSG (home grown international player and club captain gets sold for £17m) compounded by his getting sent home from tour has proven too much.

And we probably only hear half off it. I dunno, seems a shame, but he must be a nightmare if we are considering loaning him out because clearly on form he was a starting pick last season.

The US thing happened ages ago, so if it was just that surely he'd have been sold by now, something must have happened since

It's a ruse, designed to flush out whoever has been leaking stories...

...or it's the paper trying to fill column inches with a story that has no basis other than Klopp's comments on Flannagen about sending players out on loan can sometimes be good in terms of fitness.

Is Sakho back training yet, or is he still injured. If he's injured, i can't seen any club taking a punt on him as a loan signing.

Clearly his attitude still isn't right. It's majorly annoying, but if we want to vent our anger at anyone it should be Sakho, and not the boss.

IF there is truth to the story, then what I would care about is whether or not we are bringing in a centre back.

If Sakho is deemed not right for the team for whatever reason, then replacing him should be the priority rather than just loaning him out.

Cannot see the logic in loaning out a first team quality player and then continuing the season with stop gap cover for that player's position.

                  Shipping loads of goals?

Loan your best currently not playing defender out.

We have to hope that we have a lot of 'plans' because there has been an amount of logic defying things so far this summer.

No LB being signed and using Milner (a right winger by trade) as cover/first choice.

No proper DM/controlling midfielder being signed to help against teams who play a blocked defence. See Burnley for evidence.

The Sakho situation because loaning him out seems insane - he was our best CB last season. Yes he had fitness issues and if he has had attitude problems then sell him and replace him. Why did we wait 2 games into the season to do this, why not when he was sent home from the US?

I have faith in Klopp and I am sure he has a long term plan but it is hard not to worry about these early strange decisions. The one thing that worried me was him not having a DoF to assist with buying players so I hope he gets it right there.

Weird. Guessing they'd prefer to find a permanent transfer rather than take the hit on a £4m loan fee or whatever it'll be.

                            Lucas

Could we not just invest in a set of bionic legs for him?

                              bizarre situation -

we have what - lovren, klavan, matip, sakho, Gomez, Moreno, clyne as the only 'senior' defenders on the books. in a team that is already poor defensively.

Lovren - has improved but is only decent
Klavan - is new and ok as a budget back up cb but doesn't look like a top first choice cb
Matip - we are yet to see kick a ball
Gomez - is a kid coming back from a long time out and really needs time
Sakho - despite probably being our best cb, is having serious discipline along with injury issues and if that's the case we really should have been doing more about it not leaving it till the last week of the window
Moreno - has some horrendous flaws
Clyne - is pretty much solid/consistent and the only one who should start every week

we have zero cover in full backs and we are looking at using Lucas and Milner as make shift defenders/full backs

On top of this we have one of the worst keepers in the league and we are all pinning our hopes on a young new german lad to come straight in and sort it

                              it's ****ing amateur hour this An absolute shambles - don't care whose fault it is, sakho/the physio/the scouts/the manager/the owners - it's a cluster ****
