So he's a guaranteed starter vs Stoke
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Made up with this signing, he's been the best CB we've been linked with and to be honest I thought we'd end up with either just Ilori or nobody just a couple of days ago.

@CiaoAnfield: Sakho: "I came because the project that is in place at Liverpool interests me. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game." #LFC
The project? What,do you mean the Brendan Rodgers project? The young manager that no top player would sign for according to someone on here who shall remain nameless?

              Rodgers must be sak(ho)
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

"With regards to the history of Liverpool, the thing that struck me most was the victory in the Champions League final when I was very young. I don't remember how old I was but I was very young and I remember this fantastic event, which always impressed me.
Lol, either he's making that up or he counts 15 as "very young". Which it is for many of us I suppose, but not for a 23yr old
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                Mine angry and defrauded young?

Obviously we paid his agent £5m to make sure he said that.

Mamadou Sakho is an awesome brute of a centre-back, but not an ideal partner for Daniel Agger as both are very left-footed.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Honestly don't see the big issue of having two left footed defenders as opposed to having two right footed defenders (as mentioned), but the tweet makes me re-open it. Anyone else see a problem besides the small passing at the back? I mean positioning wise two right footet can adapt, surely two lefties can as well?

It's not ideal, but if both players are good on the ball, as these two are, then I can't see it being much of an issue at all.

Of course it's ideal having one of each positioning wise, but never heard it as an issue with having two right footet defenders, which does seem to be 3/4 of all pairings or so.

                                from the beeb

                                1014:
                                LIVERPOOL SIGN SAKHO
France football writer Matt Spiro: "Mamadou Sakho's Liverpool switch has upset a lot of PSG supporters. Paris born and bred, the centre-back is a PSG fan and was the last survivor of a promising generation that graduated from the academy six years ago.

"Having first captained the club aged 17, many hoped he'd develop the kind of relationship with PSG that Paolo Maldini enjoyed with AC Milan.

"His status changed, though, when Carlo Ancelotti arrived and expressed concerns over his weight. Thiago Silva replaced Sakho as captain, and when the Brazilian said he'd rather partner his compatriot Alex, a lengthy spell on the bench ensued. The 23-year-old cut his losses when another Brazilian centre-back, Marquinhos, was signed from AS Roma.

"With the World Cup approaching, Sakho, who was first-choice for his country for much of last season, will be desperate to play regularly at Anfield.

"My feeling is he will be a big hit. While he has been more error-prone than usual in the last two seasons, he has speed, power, aggression and tremendous aerial presence, often intimidating his opponents. If Brendan Rodgers can keep him in good shape, Sakho has the potential to become one of the best defenders in England."
