More or less to blame for both goals and all but 2 of his headed clearences were decent. The rest either went high or travelled 2 metres. Early days

Sami was right-footed, but wasn't averse to passing with his left.

Gerrard didn't track shelveys run for the second, more at fault for me than sakho.

Sakho made 15 clearances tonight, more than any other player in the premiership in a single game so far this season.

Tells you the kind of battle he had on tonight. When I look at it that way, I guess it's not too bad a debut all things considered.

I agree. Bony was there to be challenged. Sakho made it and had too as no midfielder was in front of him. No problems until Shelvey ghosts in under no pressure and causes a problem.

Things like that will happen after international breaks with Gerrard. Could have done with a home game. One against Crystal Palace would have been nice.....

For the 2nd goal Sakho, Gerrard, Skrtel and Wisdom are all at fault in different stages.

I liked what I saw of Sakho. Obviously, individual made errors but not ones you expect every game (and still be playing). Out of the 4 games played so far, Swansea away was probably the worst debut game for any defender.

What impressed me was his heading range. Easily heads it out miles away even from floaty, tough to head balls. If he connects with someone else's head its going to crack open.

Defenders were/are going to be afraid to head when he's around. Just watch the amount of chickening out in future games. Hopefully will sort his positioning out very soon.

Harsh to blame him or Skrtel for the second goal. He stepped out to track the forward because the midfield had gone missing, standing around scratching their arses, the same midfield didn't track the run so skrtel had to come across which left Wisdom on Michu but he was caught wrong side.

Sakho goes out with Bony when he could have passed him onto Lucas.

Skrtel doesn't come across to cover the space Sakho has left.

Gerrard doesn't track the run of Shelvey.

Wisdom hasn't come across to cover Michu.

All at fault in different stages IMO.

He's one for the second half of the season me thinks. His physical gifts probably ensure he'll adjust quicker than most. And between Skrtel, Agger and Toure, who have each performed admirably this far, we'll have ample quality cover for Sahko to be eased into the team.

Lucas and Gerrard didn't close Bony down, they stood around watching, Sakho had no choice.

Skrtel did come across which is why michu was left with Wisdom who was unfortunately not alive to the danger.

Lucas is close enough to Bony by the time he lays it off for Sakho to have passed him on and got back into position.

When he doesn't do that the others need to be alive to the danger and react.

Yeah but lucas doesn't need sakho to pass him off, bony was in his area, he should be taking charge himself. He doesn't.

Shelvey makes the run past Gerrard, Skrtel is already moving to cover the space while sakho is trying to get back but neither are quick enough. If Lucas does his job sakho doesn't need to come out, when he doesn't, Sakho does, once that happens Gerrard should be tracking the run. If he's playing deep that's part of his job.

It was a poor goal but I wouldn't apportion any blame on Sakho. That's just me though.
