It was a patchy game from him today, he did some good stuff at times but he was awful at other times and made some terrible mistakes. A couple of times he looked knackered and out on his feet in the second half, I think we probably rushed him back too soon and he wasn't ready to play 90 mins, hopefully that was the case and he will be back to his old self soon.

Even an unfit rushed back Sakho managed to somehow win more tackles and headers then the entire team put together. He had a bad game but certainly not the reason why we lost. That honour goes to the entire spineless team around him. Excluding a couple.

I still loved watching him. Only reason I kept watching to be honest. Missed that passing and **** you attitude he shows.

Dreadful today....back from injury or no, it shouldn't stop the basics from being performed and he was well below the standard required right from the opening couple mins, not to mention his involvement with two of their goals and all their best chances.
He wasn't alone today by means, especially with the rest of the back line choosing to play like lepers all in the one game, but he was frequently putting pressure on the team, giving away the ball, rushing out etc.........the new Dejan Lovren. Proper Bambi on ice stuff.

Even Kolo might have been a better option today in hindsight.

Good thing is, he couldn't possibly be much worse again so thats something to look forward to.

oh i think he can, can't understand the support he get's he's average at best ,i suppose with the other centre halfs being spineless ****s people will latch on to somebody who gives 100% but that doesn't make him a decent player

I don't think average is objectively fair. His history and his general stats say he's better than that, there are some things he is excellent at... but also we shouldn't fool ourselves into thinking he is the complete centre half either.

We haven't helped ourselves squad wise however by not accepting he is our best current cb and buying someone suited to playing alongside him. Skrtel and he have had good games together but they've also had their fair share of disasters and never look like convincing long term, while Lovren seems incapable of playing on the right side for some reason and Toure just isn't a real option.

If we fix the spine of the team (keeper, a truly good cb, midfield general and reliable top striker), the lack of which is the real problem at the moment, only then I think we will properly see if Sakho is as good as some think, or as dodgy as others seem to believe.
