Wasn't convinced by his performance last night to be honest. Held onto the ball for far too long on occasions, and, like my post in February above, his positions are still strange for me.
I think Matip may end up taking his place next season in the first XI.

He is all arseholes, elbows and legs. I love how much of a calming influence he is despite his mental playing style. Looking like he is a bargain. Him alongside Lovren is fine with me on current form.

Don’t know if his confidence has been affected, as his passing doesn’t seem as efficient as normal and we aren’t even seeing as many chest controls, but even though he’s not been at his best since returning from injury, his recent form still reads 4 clean sheets in last 5 games (excluding the cup final obviously). He’s great.
