Yep, he was our best player IMO.

Only issue I have with at the moment, seeing as he's still integrating into the group, is that he does have a tendency to keep his head down when in possession in and around the box.
Obviously he's a very creative player who could be an important part of the squad for a good while to come, but he backs himself into more corners than he should. Worked grand for Southampton, as he knew where the likes of Lambert would be up top etc, but it's something that was more than noticeable tonight.
That said, he got a fine touch with either foot, close control, a tendency to make things happen etc"I will make the boys feel your support"

I thought he was our MOTM. Very good performance from him. Once we're back playing well I think he's going to be fantastic for us.
Nice to see him get 120 minutes fitness too, I think it will do him good.
Also even while he's been finding form and fitness his defensive work has been absolutely outstanding.

At least he was trying to make things happen around the box, even if the end product was lacking. Great contribution to Suso's goal mind.

He created Suso's goal. Was instrumental in that.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostHe takes too long. He feels the need to beat a man when there is absolutely no need to....poor in game decisions would be acceptable for a 21 year old but not for a 26 year old, £25m signingAre we winning?

Had a couple of opportunites to shoot, one in particular opened up beautifully for him, but tried to help his mate out by setting him up instead.
Shame, he deserved a goal last night. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

he created Susos goal??? The side-heel to Enrique??? That was passed for Balotelli but cut out by the defender......that then went into no-mans land and Suso was quickest to the ball???? That was all created by Lallana????Originally posted by Nigey View PostHe created Suso's goal. Was instrumental in that.
In the second phase of extra time. At home in the Capital One cup..... At home to Boro.

Why are you so fixated on Lallana and Markovic's fees? Don't go into how we could've signed Milner and someone else for the same amount or promoted Suso because I don't careOriginally posted by frank the tank View PostHe takes too long. The two players were clearly our main targets this summer, given how the summer went and the names we were linked to that is pretty clear to me, so in this sense the fees are irrelevant. Lallana has been injured and Markovic missed parts of pre-season. If you can't see the quality Lallana brings us then there isn't much point arguing that
The latter is a 20 year old in a new country and a new team and has made (I think) two starts. Much like Henderson, Lucas and other players, I personally see the raw qualities Markovic has and think he will be a success, his problem at the moment is in his head. I'd be surprised if he could just waltz into a new team and start firing straight away. The problem in his head seems exacerbated by the fact the rest of the team are adjusting to new players, we have important players out, and the crowd aren't exactly brilliant at the moment. I do however trust the management to help him improve, much like Henderson, and we will gradually see him take more responsibility with the ball and fulfil his potential and be a good player for us.
