I really don't get wht people keep comparing him to Charlie Adam, or at least saying "he could be the next Charlie Adam etc).

Yes they play in a similar position, but Lallana is far more versatile, has a far better work ethic, is far more skilful and productive and is far slimmer.

    Other than that they're identical

Charlie Adam, the archetypical Brendan Rodgers player.
      Oh I don't know.

I'm not a Lallana fan but comparing him to Adam is harsh

The problem with Charlie Adam (and Stuart Downing) is that when he signed you couldn't say he was an archetypal Dalglish player. Our successful 6 month spell of free-flowing football before under Kenny didn't contain a player like him or Downing.

Tbf to him, Adam had a storming season at Blackpool the season before in similar circumstances to Lallana and most were happy with the signing. United were after him too if I recall.

How things could have panned out if he had signed for United.
              Oh I don't know.

True, his lowish fee of 7 million also helped with the reception. It was like, what can we lose?

                  £7 million pounds.

                  With the benefit of hindsight.

I can copy and paste all my chat in the Lallana speculation thread in here if you like? Why would I want to sound like a broken record repeating everything that I've said over there, in here? This thread will develop during his time in a Liverpool shirt; it is no way a barometer to judge the fans' excitement.

Ha! Didn't help that we made a £7 million pound player a pivotal one in our engine room. Especially someone who couldn't pivot and didn't have an engine.

It seems some have a crystal ball and know how **** he's going to be before he's kicked a ball for us it seems the club can never get it right for some either it's Ayres fault for not supposedly spending am extra £5M to bring in a signing or we don't move quick enough or it's over spending (remember Ayre being a tight arse in an earlier point).

Rodgers has got a first choice target in early doors with the minimal fuss which is great to see if he doesn't work out then perhaps we can throw about "I knew he'd be **** etc...." but maybe let's see how he does for us first

everythng about him makes me think he's gonna have a good few years at lfc, his style of play, him off the pitch, it just seems he's made for brendan's liverpool.

but as you said, there are no guarantees

The comparison of Llallana and Adam is totally ludicrous. I'm baffled that people would suggest it. Totally baffled.

People comparing them probably never saw Lallana play, considering that his work rate makes him the total opposite of Charlie Adam in every way,
