My concern is primarily the cost and with the imposing sale of Saurez we're making a rod for our own backs now. If we need to replace Suarez then negotiations are going to be difficult, not only will we have the £60-£80m from the sale that everyone will be well aware of, we're also happy to throw £25m at players of Lallana's experience and level.
If a group as stringent and thorough as FSG seem to be, have sanctioned £25m but refuse to budge on the £16m we have offered Sevilla for Moreno; we paid what we were willing to pay for him.

Other historic transfers have fallen through because we have a maximum price for a player that we won't budge on. This ceiling price will be generated from statistics, figures, calculations and Jebus knows what else. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that the people that matter: FSG, Rodgers and Liverpool as a club, believe we have not overpaid.

I'm all in favour of comparing new signings to Charlie Adam from thenceforth. Expectations, then, will well be truly managed.

Having him in our squad last season when Henderson was out would have made a massive difference IMO, maybe between 1st and 2nd. Look at our midfield with and without Henderson and then look at how it could be with Lallana and Henderson in it. Allen can come in for either of them as well as backup and Coutinho at home or at the tip.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

REVEALED: Angry Adam Lallana made Southampton threats to push through Liverpool move

Adam Lallana stunned Southampton by threatening never to play for the club again if they didn't let him join Liverpool.

The England midfielder, 26, has been at the Saints since he was 12 but left amid a storm yesterday.

He had become increasingly frustrated that Southampton were trying to stop him leaving.

And Lallana was so desperate to push through a switch to Anfield that he told St Mary's chiefs he would REFUSE to play.

A club source told Starsport: "Adam threw his toys out of the pram and said he would never play for the club again if they did not accept Liverpool's offer. It left a bitter taste."

Lallana eventually left in a £25m deal which sees him join ex-Saints team-mate Rickie Lambert at Liverpool.

            Good - showed some balls...

Lots of complexities regarding the fee for Lallana to #lfc, hence the #afcb 25% being around £4m.
i.e the initial fee is around £16m. Rising to whatever.....

                            Pointless comparison.

                            Lallana is a good player.

We have overpaid imo but that is different matter.

The only Adam comparison I can see is not a comparison between the 2 of them as players because there is no comparison, I'm assuming it's due to the fact that Adam was the player who Blackpool built there team around so they could get the best out of him, big fish in a very small pond but when moves to a bigger team where he isn't afforded the luxury of having other players cover for his shortcomings he looks woefully out of his depth. As Lallana was the star of Southampton, a smaller club that has recently gained promotion up the lower leagues I'm guessing he is getting tarred with the same brush and people are scared that lightening will strike twice. The difference here though is that Lallana is actually a very talented hardworking footballer and not an immobile tub of lard like Adam
