What do people think Barca would get for him if they sold him today ? Then again, only two or three clubs that could afford him.

For his talent we should have gotten close to 100 million but there was no way we were getting that given his baggage. While 65 million is disappointing, I am more concerned by our inability to replace talent. Even if we had gotten 100 million for Suarez we would have most likely blown that money.
We sold him for a very poor amount but you are spot on as regards the real issue in all this and it's one that still hangs over us today, all the same people responsible for it are all still involved in spending our money. Bar Rodgers obviously. Hopefully Klopp has enough influence to prevent further wastage but that remains to be seen.

Soft touch Liverpool selling Suarez to arsenal for £40m. +£1

Ooh that didn't happen did it we got at least £25m more depending on the specifics around vat etc.

All for a player who wanted out a year earlier.

****ing up that title challenge and transfer window will always haunt us. If we had got it right, we could easily be looking at our second title in 3 years this summer and not much to fear in retaining it next

This was before he bit someone again too. When he signed his new deal he was always going the following summer imo but if we'd already agreed to sell him that summer why did he need to bite? I don't agree with people who think it was premeditated on his part.
Oh yep sorry you're right. Getting my timeline mixed up
