I dunno, I just sort of wanted to preserve it as his time at the club, not have it drag on after and it get vole cunty or maudlin or whatever. Silly but the killing of the uber thread feels kind of symbolic (in random and ultimately meaningless forum terms). Though it is sort of arbitrary and could not have been done like that.

i'm really amazed at how well i've taken this - i'm really not that arsed

The way i see it -

we got him for what £25m? had three amazing years from him football wise - arguably his best years/form - i enjoyed watching him play and appreciated it. But he caused issues every season and we were going to be without him for 4 months! And we've made £50m on him - plus he's gone abroad not to another english team and we are on the up on and off the pitch and back in champions league

It feels odd. The weirdest thing is he wasn't even a Liverpool player for that long. It's not like he's Hamann or someone who was here for ages. It's 3 and a half seasons. Just shows how good he was, despite his relatively short time at the club which included some long first term absences he's made a really profound effect at the club. Special player.
