I was trying to be earnest about this last last night and was pandering. This is patently bull****, not a ****ing chance did Firmino use racist language and I don't believe for one second that Holgate genuinely believed that he had. What a ****ing sly cunt.

That would be a crazy outcome, if using offensive language was grounds to ban people then the FA and referees should have to do that consistently and look at the video of Rooney clearly telling the referee to **** off.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostProblem now is that the FA will go over it with experts etc and find him guilty of "using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures" even without the racial element. And Holgate will go unpunished.
Whatever the outcome of the racism allegations Holgate should be punished for the initial push. That was deliberate and endangering an opponent and took place before the alleged incident. You could justifiably say he should get away with it if it was a reaction to a racist comment, but that wasn't the case. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Looks thst way and once again we'll defend our player even after he gets a 20 match ban. It's ****, Holgate spent the whole game winding up our players and presumably they ignored comments they received. He's a rat of the highest order. His smug reaction towards Lallana going down for the penalty was hilarious.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostWe all expert lip readers in foreign tongue again.

I wouldn't read anything into that at all. They know that they have to play a straight bat.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI have a bad feeling about this tbh. In the statement the club didnt reject anything and only promised full cooperation. The FA have to investigate, and take every allegation of racism seriously and rightly so. I just hope that this is done quickly, because the Suarez thing dragged on for weeks. In this case there are video cameras, players and the referee around the incident, and if there referee's microphone records during the match there will be that as well. Amongst all that there should be enough evidence to decide if there is a case to answer in the next few days (I don't expect the FA to do anything at the weekend
).
I've seen it suggested that Holgate doesn't react to the 'son of a bitch' comment, but that he reacts to what is said after that, which the TV cameras can't see because the is an Everton player (Kenny) in the way. It seems reasonable that this could be what sparks Holgate's reaction, but at this point Kenny, Lallana and the referee are as close to the incident as it is possible to get, but no one other than Holgate seems to react. You would imagine that if the N-word was used (in English) one or more of the referee, Kenny and Lallana must have heard it and all being native English speakers would have appreciated the significance. The alternative is that it wasn't said in English or what was said was misheard/misunderstood. But there are enough people around that you would assume someone else must have heard something. As well as those 5 mentioned there are also a few other players who can't be far away judging by how quickly they get there: Robertson, Milner and a couple of subs (one from each team) who also might have heard something.
Also as the referee is wearing a mic maybe the reason that he went over to the 4th official was to see if the 4th official had heard anything over the referee's microphone that the referee had missed?
Whatever happened statements from about 10 players, the officials and the TV footage should allow this to be cleared up quickly you would hope.Last edited by Exiled_red; 06-01-18, 11:07 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Holgate was being a cunt of the ****ing highest order, he pulled the race card because he heard Puta and thought to himself ... after the crime might I add, hes called me something bad there, I'll use that.
Bobby Madley is a noticably bad referee in a bunch of mostly bad referees. We are lucky to come out of that game, a great game, without any injuries. I hope Holgate gets karma back in spadesAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Holgate was already spinning his wheels, he grabbed the Referee, he pushed a player into the advertising board .. yet amazingly he got off without any cardOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe FA have to investigate, and take every allegation of racism seriously and rightly so. He's clearly pumped up from the push etc, as Firmino is coming towards him he's just facing him up, after Firmino has called him a son of a bitch his reaction intensifies. It's at that point that he starts to grab and push at the ref. It seems that what he has heard/thinks he has heard provokes him further. Lets just hope that it was a misunderstanding. Because I find the suggestion that a player would deliberately make false claim of racist abuse as bad as the idea of one player racially abusing another. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
