There is a small push which takes place on the touchline which should have been a freekick but the ref may not have seen that or known whether it took place when the ball was in play or not. The main push takes place when both player and the ball are off the pitch.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostThe crazy thing is, we didn’t even get a free kick for the push. The game restarted with a throw in!The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Presumably all he can include is that the allegation was made but he didn't hear it. (If he did he would have sent Firmino off). That will be what he needs to do to start the process of the FA investigating. Plus statements taken by him and the other officials after the match.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostSo the Ref has included the incident in his report.
Not that that means anything either way till we know what exactly he's 'included'.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I suspect that this is right.Originally posted by captainfog View PostThe FA will conclude that there isn't enough evidence to charge Firmino with racist abuse and then he'll unfairly have a question mark left hanging over him. They might dish out a ban for aggressive behaviour just because they're cunts like that. Holgate will get off without even a warning.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

It's the easy way out for the FA, they can do nothing without having to call the bitter a liar.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI suspect that this is right.

Yep, Firmy would have been off if it was as clear cut as the Ref hearing it, so it's a bit odd that he didn't, but Holgate did.

The only other way the Ref's report could incriminate Firmy is to say that he heard the word used, and Holgate alleged it to be racist, but the Ref didn't know if it was or not, and includes that word in his report as the one alleged by Holgate to be racist.
You would think the Ref would know said word if Holgate did, or would young Black English players be briefed on what Foreign language racist words to be aware of ? But then again if they were, it woild follow that Ref's would be too.Last edited by Vermilion; 06-01-18, 01:19 PM.

Calling someone a loco puta isn't racist though. We're not talking about nuances of culture and translation here. It should be an open and shut case.Originally posted by Vermilion View Post

It's not just black players, or non-white players who can be racially abused.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostYou would think the Ref would know said word if Holgate did, or would young Black English players be briefed on what Foreign language racist words to be aware of ? If they are only going to go by the video footage then they can't charge him for being racist as there isn't any evidence to suggest so.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Posthttp://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport...gate--14120511
