I don't think that is correct but, even if it is, how much would we be willing to wage on little Phil being with us this time next season?

A fair bit, I think he's too inconsistent and the teams he'd move for i.e Barca and Madrid have better more consistent players at the moment. He's class don't get me wrong but he needs to do it on a regular basis

Nice ball in for the goal and bit better towards the end, but anonymous for most of the game as he has been at his time at LFC. Still hoping he'll come good.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

incredibly talented but yeah doesn't do it enough to warrant Barca/Real's attention at the moment. If he could find some consistency he would be the perfect replacement for Iniesta IMO.

I don't get this anonymous thing. He tracked back well, he linked play well and created the goal and other chances (more than anyone else on the pitch did). I thought he was very good.

Think people where simply not paying attention.

Must admit I didn't think he was as awful as people on here are suggesting either

I think talk of selling him is completely stupid
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

He's had half a season under 2 managers in a new league, certainly need to give him some
Time to settle in and adjust.

Only watched highlights but he seems to have the knack of creating chances. When I have seen him he has looked mobile if not driven. In general though I think it is hard to tell a lack of work rate from adapting to a different type of physicality in the PL. I tend to think his performances have been closer to your impression than that of PTP.

If you aren't doing the really noticeable things in a game like creating or scoring goals, or making loads of great tackles, or have massive work rate then people tend to be blind to your efforts. We saw it for years with Lucas " he only passes sideways or backwards", we had "what does he do" regarding Henderson. Milner gets it now too but we missed him badly against Watford. Firmy got pelters in the match thread, such is life.

Once we get some proper strikers that are actually there and not off broken, he'll get more used to playing with them. He's the same as Coutinho, needs some consistency in the players around him. Once thats in he will know how to read them and he'll be an excellent player for us. One to be patient with.
