Reserves need games when they can get them for me, regardless of importance. Tbh I was more annoyed at first team regulars playing when there were plenty of reserves who needed a game.Forwards.......Comment

Yeah I agree with this. All our eggs should be in the league and the Europa.... cups that we can actually benefit from.
That team selection was a team designed to save Rodger's skin. Normally we would not have dreamed of fielding a team that strong.Comment

Yeah it's crazy man, **** the league and FA cup and concentrate of the competitions that can push the club forward, get us back into the champs league & that make sense financially.
Weakened team vs Bordeaux but full strength team vs Carlisle... wtf!Comment

Don't have a problem playing a shadow side in the group stages, particularly in away games. And after 120mins v Carlisle and a game against Villa they'll need a rest to be ready for Everton. So I'd be happy to play a weakened side v Sion.
A weakened side should still get out that group. After that in the KO rounds, judge each tie on its merits, but anyone half decent and I'd be playing the first XI. As you rightly allude too, it's our best chance of CL football.Forwards.......Comment

League should be priority at this stage, followed by Europa. The rest you judge as we progress. And I only say prioritise the league because reserves should get out that group.Forwards.......Comment

I would have said that before the season starts but we are mess on the pitch & Rodger's record in Europe is hideous. I think at this stage it's a bit presumptuous and cocky to think we can be sides in Europe with our second string... sure we couldn't beat a weakened Carlisle side with our full team.
But I do agree the league followed by Europe should be our priority. I really couldn't care less about the FA or League Cup. They are irrelevant in the scheme of things.Comment

I think we needed (and still need) options who are in form and ready to make a difference. He played in that game in the hope that it would push him closer to being a first choice option which seems fair enough to me.
Obviously it depends a bit on whether there are underlying causes of the injury but we aren't far enough in to the season for workload to be a serious issue IMO."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
